If you’re looking for something genuinely interesting to do with the kids you’ll be hard pushed to find something better than the Science Festival in Otley next week. Kicking off on Sunday 3rd November the fun-filled itinerary has something for every age group, including several events for toddlers.

1. Silly Science for Toddlers
Designed for little people, specifically the under 5’s, there are lots of toddler themed science activities for your kids to get stuck into. A great way of feeding their little imaginations and getting them to think about the world around them.
2. Marty Jopson – Zap Crackle & Pop
The eccentric Dr Marty Jopson, a resident of Otley and a regular on BBC One, tells the story of electricity. From the ancient Greeks to modern day, it’s a thoroughly entertaining show.
3. Stefan Gates – Gastronaut Live
CBBC’s Stefan Gates presents this explosive food science show. Expect rockets, mind-blowing chemistry and flame-throwing! Your kids will love it!
4. Helen Keen – Robot woman of tomorrow
One for the adults. Award-winning comedian Helen Keen presents this hugely enjoyable show, a futuristic combination of shadow-puppetry, stand-up comedy and science fiction.
5. Otley Science Fair
The Flag-ship event of the Festival, the Science Fair is free to enter and promises a host of things to entertain the whole family. Held in the Otley Courthouse there will be stalls, experiments, demonstrations and of course lots of tea and cake..
