A stunning 3-bedroom holiday cottage set high up on the grouse moors of Nidderdale. Picture-postcard scenery all around with elegant interiors to match. And with the vibrant foodie town of Masham just a few miles drive away, it's an idyllic retreat for your Yorkshire break.
Thought to date back to the monks of Jervaulx Abbey, Agra Cottage has been a labour of love for current owners Mark and Eleanor Richardson. In 2005 they set about the total renovation of the cottage and barn. The result is a stunning home and luxury cottage which captures a sense of rustic chic.
Think natural sandstone floors, exposed brickwork and chunky timbers overhead. The living room and dining rooms have fantastic views of the Dales beyond with three ground-to-ceiling windows, and this sense of space is echoed with contemporary furnishings and decor throughout.
Agra Cottage features a large open plan lounge, a dramatic dining room with exposed stone walls, a farmhouse kitchen and 3 double bedrooms with family bathroom upstairs. All the velux windows now have blackout blinds. Agra Cottage is set in a private courtyard and enjoys a walled garden to the front, perfect for small children to run around in. Pets are welcome and there are miles of wonderful walking to be had from the doorstep. Those with young children will delight in the myriad of farm animals to meet. The will love meeting the resident peacocks too!
Agra Cottage will only accept a maximum of 6 guests which includes infants.
Please note: a kennel is available to use during your stay, please notify at the time of booking. This property does not accept any dogs on the current Dangerous Dog Breed list.
Agra Cottage and the surrounding grounds is an incredibly special place. Situated in the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, close to the Yorkshire Dales National Park, it has a location to die for.
With only acres of stunning moorland on the horizon you can enjoy absolute privacy here, but are within striking distance of fine dining, horse racing and a host of historical attractions. Less than 5 miles away is the town of Masham, where elegant Georgian townhouses gather round a charming market square. With its picture post card good looks, dainty tea-rooms and country pubs you could happily spend the day here.
Masham also boasts two breweries (Black Sheep & Theakstons), a chocolate shop that counts Daniel Craig as a fan and a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant.
