Welcome to Bluebell of Lofthouse, a gorgeous 2-bedroom 19th Century cottage nestled between the bustling market town of Pateley Bridge and the picturesque rolling hills of Nidderdale. With both bedrooms enjoying en-suite bathrooms and interiors with a real luxury feel, Bluebell is the perfect holiday cottage for couples looking for a 5 Star rural retreat.
Tucked away in a sleepy little hamlet, Bluebell of Lofthouse is a charming double-fronted stone cottage which has been subject to a complete refurbishment. Inside you'll find grown up sophisticated interiors, a perfect blend of contemporary style and rustic character.
Downstairs the heart of the home is the peaceful living room, complete with a cosy wood-burner resting in the chimney and warm throws on the seats. Light up the fire, grab a good book and take your pick from the comfy sofa or handsome easy chairs. We love the calming hues in here, you feel instantly relaxed the moment you walk in. There's a TV with DVD Player, DVDs, games and books ? so lots to keep you entertained, and Wi-Fi is provided too.
At the opposite side of the house you'll find the kitchen and dining area. The elegant kitchen boasts handsome grey units and a sleek white corian work-top. There's all the usual mod cons including a dishwasher, washing machine and fridge-freezer. The cupboards are well stocked with all the equipment you'll need during your stay, with everything from serving dishes to egg cups and a toast rack. Rustle up something delicious and head over the lovely dining table to enjoy. Set right by the window you can watch the comings and goings of traditional Yorkshire village life over breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Both bedrooms in Bluebell are set upstairs and both enjoy super-king size beds dressed in the finest cotton bed linen. The 2nd bedroom can also be made up as two singles if preferred. The romantic master bedroom boasts a luxury en suite complete with a cast iron claw foot bath. Sink into a haze of bubbles with a chilled glass of prosecco at the end of the day!
The second bedroom also has an en suite bathroom with a shower over the bath. Both bedrooms have their own flat screen televisions, perfect if you just want to chill in your PJs watching morning TV.
Outside the property settle down on the bench at the front for your morning coffee and watch the world go by. Discover the private courtyard garden to the side, enjoying sun the whole day it's a pleasant spot to enjoy an afternoon G & T or perhaps lunch or a BBQ al fresco in the warmer months. This pretty cottage garden has seating amongst the window boxes and potted plants where in the summer months a plethora of colour soothes the soul.
Bluebell of Lofthouse has a lovely location set in a gorgeous little hamlet in the heart of beautiful Nidderdale. Whichever direction you arrive from to Bluebell cottage, the scenery will take your breath away. Enjoy the drive and soak up the countryside. The setting for Bluebell offers best of both worlds, the peace and tranquillity of the Yorkshire Dales countryside with the cosmopolitan delights of Harrogate 40 minutes away. There are plenty of gorgeous walks right from the doorstep, and if you don't fancy cooking one night the local pub is just a 5 minute stroll away. For those really special occasions the Michelin-starred Yorke Arms is also just a few miles away.
Bluebell is set in breathtaking Nidderdale, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty immediately adjacent to the Yorkshire Dales National Park. There are bags of local attractions and stunning natural sights within easy driving distance including the fabulous Brimham Rocks and famous Three Peaks of Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent. And with miles of stunning walks and mountain bike trails literally from the doorstep, the cottage is heaven for lovers of all things outdoors.
There are countless charming Yorkshire towns and villages close by including Pateley Bridge and Ilkely where you'll find among other delights the oldest sweet shop in England, a Michelin-starred restaurant and the quintessentially Yorkshire tea-room Bettys. Indulge in a buttery Fat Rascal here before a pleasant stroll along the River Wharfe.
And no trip to this corner of Yorkshire would be complete without a day out in Harrogate. This elegant Victorian Spa town is bursting at the seams with antique shops, cafes, independent boutiques and restaurants. And the RHS Gardens at Harlow Carr are a must see too.
And for eats you'll find no shortage of excellent gastro pubs and restaurants in the area, including the fantastic Timble Inn. This luxury 5 Star Inn/restaurant dates back to the 18th Century and is set in the beautiful Washburn Valley just a few miles from the cottage.
