Bothy Cottage is a stylish 4 Star Gold 2-bedroom luxury cottage in Gillamoor, a sleepy little village in the North York Moors. With its large garden and elegant interior it is the perfect country retreat for families and couples alike.
The accommodation is set over two floors. There is a generous open-plan sitting room and dining area downstairs. Leather armchairs, warm throws and a wood burning stove make it a cosy and relaxing place to curl up in. You'll also find a Plasma TV with DVD player and Wi-Fi is included. There's a host of books and magazines available too if you fancy switching off from the online world for a while.
The dining area sits beside the cottage kitchen and is a really pleasant space to dine in. Relax with your morning coffee and croissant with the Sunday papers spread across the table. The fully equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, fridge-freezer and microwave oven, with laundry facilities available right next door.
Upstairs you'll find a King-size double room with an en suite shower room. Opposite is the second bedroom featuring a single and double bed. Both enjoy uninterrupted views of the garden and North York Moors landscape beyond. The family bathroom sits in between the two and has a bath with a shower overhead. Enjoy a soak in the tub after a bracing afternoon's walk across the Moors...
Bothy Cottage has a peaceful courtyard to the front of the cottage, but the real star of the show is the large garden to the rear. A generous manicured lawn stretches away to the mature trees at the bottom.
It's an idyllic country garden and the perfect spot to enjoy lunch or dinner in the warmer months. Fire up the BBQ and enjoy!
Please note there are no charging facility for electric cars. Nearest points are Monks Cross and York.
Bothy Cottage has an enviable location. Sitting on the edge of Gillamoor, an attractive North York Moors village, the local village pub is just a few minutes' walk away. A few miles in the other direction takes you to the pretty town of Kirbymoorside and then on to vibrant and attractive Yorkshire market towns like Pickering and Helmsley; both of which have an abundance of good restaurants, tea-rooms and independent shops.
Beyond the village lies the North York Moors. A landscape like no other, it's a place of gentle rolling hills of heather, ancient woodlands and lazy rivers winding through lush green valleys. If you want to get away from it all take a trip to the top of the high central moorlands. The famous Blakey Ridge affords some of the best views in the country in our opinion, and is just a few minutes' drive from the cottage. And if walking is your thing, you are surrounded on all sides by some truly stunning routes.
Bothy Cottage is also close to the North Yorkshire Coast, with the gothic town of Whitby and the picture-postcard fisherman village of Robin Hood's Bay less than 30 minutes' drive. Take a day trip here and experiences the sights sounds and tastes of Yorkshire's coastline. Fish 'n Chips at the Magpie Cafe is a must! Hutton-le-Hole, quite possibly the most beautiful village in the North York Moors, is just around the corner and you're also close to Castle Howard and York, so lots of choice for day trips.
