- A delightful peaceful retreat.

Cedar Cottage is an immaculate 5 Star 1-bedroom luxury cottage located in a charming North York Moors village. With an understated elegance and the village pub (a 17th Century Inn) just a stroll away, it is an idyllic Yorkshire retreat for couples and new parents alike.
All of the accommodation in Cedar Cottage is on one level. There is a feeling of peace and calm throughout, with flagstone flooring and wide oak doors giving the rooms a luxuriously spacious feel. This is further enhanced by the bright open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting room, a great space to cook and dine together. There is a cosy wood-burner for you to curl up in front of and plenty of warm throws to snuggle up under.
The living room also features an LCD TV with DVD Player and Wi-Fi is provided too. If you fancy some off-line entertainment you'll find plenty of books and magazines to delve into. The kitchen area sits beside the lounge and comes equipped with everything you'll need during your stay including a dishwasher, fridge/freezer and microwave. Laundry facilities are available on site.
The large master-bedroom features a super king-size bed and stylish shutters across the windows; a lovely room to indulge yourself with breakfast in bed and the morning papers. The bathroom is also a generous size. In here you'll find under floor heating, a free-standing bath and a walk-in shower. So you can choose to sink into a hot tub in the evening and enjoy an invigorating shower each morning.
Outside Cedar Cottage has a very pleasant gated patio and small garden with views across to the Paddock and North York Moors beyond. Patio furniture is provided so you can relax over lunch in the summer months and breathe in some of that wonderfully fresh Yorkshire air.
Please note there are no charging facility for electric cars. Nearest points are Monks Cross and York.
Cedar Cottage has an enviable location. Sitting on the edge of Gillamoor, an attractive North York Moors village, the local village pub is just a few minutes' walk away. A few miles in the other direction takes you to the pretty town of Kirbymoorside and then on to vibrant and attractive Yorkshire market towns like Pickering and Helmsley; both of which have an abundance of good restaurants, tea-rooms and independent shops.
Beyond the village lies the North York Moors. A landscape like no other, it's a place of gentle rolling hills of heather, ancient woodlands and lazy rivers winding through lush green valleys. If you want to get away from it all take a trip to the top of the high central moorlands. The famous Blakey Ridge affords some of the best views in the country in our opinion, and is just a few minutes' drive from the cottage. And if walking is your thing, you are surrounded on all sides by some truly stunning routes.
Cedar Cottage is also close to the North Yorkshire Coast, with the gothic town of Whitby and the picture-postcard fisherman village of Robin Hood's Bay less than 30 minutes' drive. Take a day trip here and experiences the sights sounds and tastes of Yorkshire's coastline. Fish 'n Chips at the Magpie Cafe is a must! Hutton-le-Hole, quite possibly the most beautiful village in the North York Moors, is just around the corner and you're also close to Castle Howard and York, so lots of choice for day trips.
