Welcome to Cherry Tree House, a fabulous 5-bedroom / 5-bathroom luxury holiday home set in a pretty North Yorkshire village. With its spacious elegant interiors (games room included) and stunning large garden / terrace it's the perfect house for those special get-togethers with family or friends. And its just a few miles from the historic Georgian market town of Richmond. What's not to love!
Completely refurbished recently, Cherry Tree House has that elusive mix of luxury and comfort and can accommodate our gorgeous guests who have reduced mobility or use a wheelchair. Ramped access to the front door is suitable to accommodate an average sized wheelchair. There are wooden floors throughout most of the ground floor. With all the modern conveniences you would expect in a large luxury holiday home, it manages to retain a warm home from home appeal. Let's explore the ground floor.
At the heart of the home is the generous sitting room with two large comfy sofas to gather around the wood-burner. It's a peaceful relaxed room, just the place to catch up with family or friends with a glass of something good. For your evening entertainment there's a wall-mounted 50inch SMART TV complete with Netflix - box-sets and movies galore!
Next door you'll find the gorgeous open-plan kitchen and dining area. The family-sized kitchen comes complete with all mod cons including an American-style fridge-freezer (handy for those bottles of fizz!), dishwasher, 2 induction hobs, a double oven and a microwave. It's a pleasure to cook and entertain in here, with Amazon Echo providing the soundtrack.
A utility room alongside houses the washing machine, tumble dryer & further sink. There's also a handy downstairs loo.
The kitchen leads on to the bright and airy dining area / garden room. With its unusual octagonal shape, the floor to ceiling windows in here afford uninterrupted views of the beautiful garden. A large oak dining table sits by the window offering an atmospheric place to dine day or night. Underfloor heating provides an extra little luxury and if you want to catch up on the news over breakfast there's a 44inch SMART TV.
If you have kids or teenagers in your group you'll be delighted to discover the games room in Cherry Tree House. Just the thing to give everyone a bit of space, and of course adults can make full use of it too! As well as a 50inch SMART TV with Netflix there's a PlayStation 4 PRO, table football and lots of traditional board games to try.
There are 5 spacious bedrooms in this luxury holiday home, 2 of which are set on ground level (good to know if there are some within your party with mobility issues). The first bedroom sits opposite the family bathroom and has a super-king size bed which can also be configured as two singles if preferred. The second ground floor bedroom features a king-size metal bed, shuttered windows and an en-suite wet room.
The family bathroom boasts handsome Travertine flooring and comes complete with a large walk-in wet room and shower, (suitable for wheelchair access).
Make your way upstairs to discover the 3 remaining bedrooms. The star of the show is the stunning master bedroom with its wow-factor diamond window. Enjoy views across the garden and to the village beyond from the comfort of your king-size bed. This room also enjoys an en-suite wet room.
Bedroom 4 features another super-king bed which can also be set up as two singles if preferred. This time there's an en-suite bathroom with a bath and shower overhead, handy if you have little ones you need to bathe. The final bedroom is a very sweet twin room with two full-size single beds. The twin has a further en-suite wet room.
Lots to enjoy outside this wonderful property too, the large patio area is easily accessible to guests with reduced mobility or wheelchair users via the gradual ramp. Beautiful huge lawned garden compete with terraced area for dining. Lunch al fresco is a pleasure here, with lovely views of the garden from the elevated terrace. Outdoor furniture and a large sun parasol is provided to keep you cool. There's also a gas BBQ with an outdoor work surface to prep food so you can make the most of those balmy summer evenings. Sheer bliss!
Keen cyclists have full use of a large garage for secure storage of bicycles. The house is located close to the recent Tour De Yorkshire and Tour de France routes so you can follow in their cycle tracks.

Cherry Tree House is set in a pretty village with a village green, just a few miles from the historic Georgian market town of Richmond. Set between the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors, and with less than an hour's drive to the coast and the City of York, it's an ideal basecamp from which to strike out and discover these unique Yorkshire locations.
If you love leaving the car in the drive on holiday the village offers a couple of pubs, a local shop, a Chinese & Pizza Takeaway and a fish & chip shop. There's also a chemist and a garage if you need any emergency supplies. And if you're a bit of a foody there are several excellent dining pubs in the area, including the fantastic Black Bull at Moulton and the Shoulder of Mutton at Middleton Tyas a few miles up the road. The Coach House at Middleton Lodge is another gorgeous option.
The cottage is just a few miles away from the pretty market town of Northallerton where handsome Georgian houses line the long main street. The wonderful Betty's Tearooms is here as is a fantastic local deli, Lewis & Cooper's Food Emporium and of course the quintessentially Yorkshire department store of Barkers. A few miles in the other direction takes you to the charming town of Yarm set on the banks of the River Tees. Yarm is a cosmopolitan little place, with a host of great shops, cafes bars and restaurants.
Richmond, an historic market town with much to offer the discerning holiday-maker, is also just a few miles away. Explore the cobbled market square or head up towards Richmond Castle for a slice of Yorkshire history. Just a short drive through Richmond takes you into the heart of the Yorkshire Dales proper. Head up towards Reeth and on towards Hawes in Wensleydale for a true taste of this magnificent countryside. Pop into the Wensleydale Creamery at Hawes and sample some of this famous Yorkshire cheese. Stop at the Wensleydale Heifer for lunch before heading back to the comfort of your large luxury Yorkshire cottage.
There's also lots of great attractions within easy reach of the cottage including Catterick Racecourse just half a mile away. With lots of meetings throughout the year it's a great day out. Thorp Perrow Arboretum is also nearby where you can explore 100s of acres of gorgeous gardens and woodland, there's also a cafe and Bird of Prey centre.
To take in the North York Moors head in the opposite direction and brave it up Sutton Bank, the view from the top said by some to be the finest in all of England. The gorgeous market town of Helmsley makes for the perfect pit-stop and if you feel like something special for lunch make your way to the Michelin-starred Star Inn at Harome.
