A very attractive three-storey traditional sandstone cottage set in rolling green countryside set just a few miles outside Whitby. With four gorgeous bedrooms sleeping up to eight guests comfortably, it's the perfect option for families or groups of friends looking for an elegant and stylish retreat on the Yorkshire Coast.

The charming period exterior of the holiday home gives way to a gorgeous contemporary interior with bags of space for the whole family. Step inside to discover a generous open plan kitchen and dining area, dominated by a wow-factor double sided wood burner which also heats the living room next door. Downstairs boasts solid oak flooring throughout which feels warm and welcoming underfoot as well as original Yorkshire Stone. The immaculate modern kitchen has solid wooden worktops, a range-style cooker and sleek brick-style tiles giving it a clean and fresh look. There's a dishwasher and microwave for your convenience and a washing machine and tumble dryer is provided in the utility just outside. The fabulous dining table seats all guests very comfortably and set beside a large window it's a lovely spot for those noisy family breakfasts. And when the kids have gone to bed, fire up the wood burner and settle down to a grown-up dinner by the fire.

Next door you'll find the spacious living room, again with that stunning wood burner at its heart. Another large window here lets in lots of light and comfy leather sofas provide the ideal backdrop to a chilled family room. There's a TV in here with subscription channels, a DVD player and Wi-Fi is also provided. Games and books are provided for some offline entertainment too. Enjoy looking out at a sea of Rhododendrons outside at certain times of the year. All of the bedrooms are set up stairs. On the first floor you'll find the handsome master bedroom which enjoys lovely private outlook to the surrounding lush green countryside. This generous room has a king-size cast iron bed dressed in crisp white cotton bed linen and a large en-suite shower room too. This floor is home to the second bedroom, another spacious and elegant room with a double bed and soft neutral colours.

The remaining two bedrooms are on the second floor. A very sweet twin just perfect for little ones. The last bedroom is a bright and fun room which kids will adore - they even have their own table football to play! There are two single beds in this room. There is also a large LCD TV & DVD player with a selection of DVD's to choose from- so it's the perfect escape for kids and adults alike.

Outside you have an elevated garden which is ideal for sitting outside in the warmer months. There's a gorgeous large enclosed patio complete with rattan furniture for those balmy evenings. Take in the sights and sounds of the countryside all around you, without any noise pollution from cars – heavenly. The garden is set on different levels with a further patio area and garden furniture at the top accessed by stone steps. There is ample off-road parking for two cars next to the cottage for your convenience too.

The location for this cottage is extra special, set down a quiet country lane in the tiny hamlet of Golden Grove, on the outskirts of Ruswarp and a few miles from the gorgeous Yorkshire Coast. You have the best of both worlds here, peace and quiet in a rural location (and parking right outside!) but with the delights of Whitby (2 miles) just a few minutes' drive away.

Ruswarp itself is a peaceful little place with a scattering of charming attractions and places to eat. Set on the River Esk you can hire rowing boats in the village and make your way peacefully along the water. Kids will love the miniature railway on the banks of the river here too. There's also a lovely waterside cafe which is perfect for an indulgent cream tea. A few miles north from the cottage takes you to the stunning North Yorkshire coastline, a heady mix of rugged cliff tops, peaceful bays and pretty fishing villages. With long sandy beaches and all the traditional seaside trimmings of yesteryear, this is proper bucket 'n spade territory. That's not to say it's stuck in the past, in fact the coast's villages and towns combine the traditional with the contemporary effortlessly, with trinket shops and tea rooms sitting alongside upmarket champagne and oyster bars. This part of the region is best known for the gorgeously gothic town of Whitby. Playing host at one time to Romans, Saxons, Celts and Danes amongst others, the town's rich heritage is immediately obvious. Straddling the river Esk and dominated by the 13th century ruins of St Hilda's Abbey on the East Cliff, Whitby's crooked cobbled streets and picturesque harbour have been a magnet for artists and tourists alike for centuries.

Head inland from the cottage and you can be in the heart of the North York Moors within minutes. Take a tour of the impossibly pretty towns and villages in the area, Egton, Danby, Castleton, Rosedale. Or head up on the high moorland of Castleton Rigg, we guarantee on a clear day it will take your breath away.

Good all round well equipped cottage tucked deep in a narrow green stream valley on a charming dead end single track road. This is such a wonderful property. It is homely, clean and well appointed. There is plenty of space in each room and around the kitchen table. Beautiful views from the bedroom and kitchen windows, and the garden offers further space for gathering and eating, when the weather permits.

The cottage has been cobbled together by what looks like diy enthusiasts. The price Is 5 star but this holiday accommodation is 3 star at best, expect check in times that are too late in the day(5.30pm) and checkout times that are early.
