Sleeping up to six guests in comfort across four bedrooms (with a games room) it's the perfect holiday cottage for families and groups of friends. And if you're a keen walker, this property is holiday heaven.

Dating back to the 17th century, this house is full of original character with exposed stone walls, oak beams and low doorways creating an atmospheric and comforting appeal. Downstairs you'll discover a generous sitting room with a roaring open fire at its heart and warm wood panelling on the walls. Snuggle down on the comfy sofas, light up the fire and enjoy a good old catch-up over a pot of tea. There's a TV/DVD in here, and Wi-Fi is included too. Plenty of books and games are provided if you fancy some offline fun with the kids. Walking maps are also provided if you want to strike out from the doorstep. The views out to the garden and Dale beyond are delightful from this room. The cottage kitchen is just across from here and sits next to the separate dining area.

The kitchen has an electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave and toaster included for your convenience. A separate utility houses a large fridge/freezer, washing machine and ironing equipment. The dining room is the central room in the house and is full of character with its stone walls and original stone fireplace. A gorgeous place to dine and enjoy family time together.

An additional reception room / snug can be accessed from the dining room. Perfect if the kids (or the adults!) need their own space. This room comes complete with a sofa bed and enjoys direct views out to the garden. A wet-room style bathroom sits off this room and features a large walk-in shower with WC. All of the bedrooms are upstairs; two doubles and two singles: the first double boasts those exposed stone walls and beams again, with stunning views across the Dales. The second double sits at the rear of the cottage and offers peace and quiet to those who prefer to be tucked away. Both singles have full size beds which sleep adults comfortably. The bathroom is also upstairs and includes a bath with a shower overhead. Perfect if you need to bathe little ones, or if you fancy a long hot soak after a day's walking in the Dales.

Kids and adults alike will love the new games room which is located above the garage. Building memories or simply giving in to your competitive side this room offers hours of fabulous fun and perfect for all the family. Outside the property you'll find a wonderful mature and South-facing garden with a large lawn and patio to dine at the warmer months. Garden furniture and a BBQ are provided for you. The views from here are simply fabulous. Throw out a picnic blanket, settle down and just soak up the sights and sounds of the Yorkshire Dales from the comfort of your gorgeous garden. A lovely cottage which is well equipped, comfortable and in a fantastic location with excellent views from the large garden. Pub couple of minutes walk away, walking from the door and Kilnsey Fisheries for an afternoon fishing. The cottage is well organised but for any problems the friendly owners are a text away. We had a great stay here.
