Welcome to Hare House, a gorgeous 2-bedroom holiday home surrounded by open countryside on the cusp of the North York Moors National Park. Subject to a complete refurbishment this immaculate property boasts generous accommodation, beautiful interiors and lots of picture postcard towns and villages within easy reach. Perfect for couples and small families yearning for a luxury escape to the country.
From the hand-made blinds to the exquisite soft furnishings and finishing touches, everything in Hare House has been designed to maximise comfort and relaxation. Let's start with the heart of the home, the impressive lounge. This spacious room offers the choice of 2 comfy sofas to snuggle up on, whilst a wood-burning stove nestling within the inglenook style fireplace keeps you nice and toasty. Oak floorboards underfoot and soft lighting add to the warm welcoming feel in this room, whilst large French doors leading to a patio let in lots of natural light.
Your evening entertainment is provided via a large wall-mounted SMART TV which comes complete with Freeview and access to Netflix. So there's the family movie night sorted. There's also a Bluetooth speaker so you can stream your own soundtrack over a nice glass of red by the fire.
Make your way next door to the lovely kitchen /diner where you'll find ivory shaker units and a sleek black granite worktop. All the usual mod cons are provided including a gas hob and oven, full size fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave.
Dinner is served on a lovely reclaimed circular oak table which has been transformed with a country-chic re-paint. Pick up some local produce from one of the excellent butchers nearby and rustle up a hearty Yorkshire breakfast. Take your time and enjoy it over the papers and a big pot of coffee.
Downstairs is also home to a handy loo and hallway with space to store coats and boots.
Both bedrooms in Hare House are set upstairs, the first of which is the stunning master bedroom. This generous room is home to a gorgeous king-size cast iron bed which lends gravity and character. Plenty of space to stretch out and relax. There's another wall-mounted TV in here if you enjoy a spot of morning telly in your PJs. Bespoke roman blinds give an elegant cosy ambiance. Bedroom 2 is a lovely twin room featuring 2 full size beds and a further TV. Both rooms enjoy far reaching views across open countryside.
The family bathroom is also upstairs, a stylish sleek room which has a luxury hotel feel. There's a bath for those who love a long hot soak on holiday and a shower overhead.
Directly outside the house, accessed via the lounge, is a very sweet fenced patio complete with garden furniture for those al fresco lunches. It's also a very pleasant spot for your morning coffee in the Yorkshire sunshine. On the opposite side of the house is a lawned garden, just the spot for a picnic blanket, good book and glass of prosecco. A charcoal BBQ is provided so you can make the most of those warm summer days.
There is off road parking available for several cars.
Please note Hare House is set within the owner's grounds which include an active stable-yard. Little ones will love seeing the horses pop their noses out over the gates!
Hare House has a lovely location, set within open North Yorkshire countryside. Enjoy stunning views of the Cleveland Hills and the Wainstones, part of the famous Cleveland Way walk.
The cottage is positioned just outside Carlton, a pretty village on the cusp of the North York Moors National Park. This lovely village has a great dining pub just a short walk from the cottage. The charming villages of Kirkby, Great Broughton and Osmotherley are also just a few miles away, with several more great pubs to choose from. Osmotherley in particular is a lovely spot for lunch, with lots of walking routes heading out from the village and across the moors.
Just a few miles North is the beautiful market town of Stokesley. Hosting a market every Friday on its handsome cobbled square, this charming Georgian town offers a host of independent shops, cafes and restaurants to try. There's also a 9-hole golf course and swimming pool. The neighbouring village of Great Ayton is also well worth a visit, an idyllic Yorkshire village set beside a meandering river, and once the boyhood home of Captain James Cook.
Heading in the other direction takes you into the North York Moors proper. Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1987, the lush pastures and woodlands of the western Moors play host to grand country houses, atmospheric ruins and handsome market towns.
There are some stunning walks right from your doorstep including the famous Cleveland Way just a few miles away. The much-loved landmark Roseberry Topping is another favourite walk in the area. The beautiful market town of Helmsley is within easy driving distance and is a must on any visit to this area. If you fancy a little pampering you'll find the Verbena Spa here - perfect for a little me time indulgence – and the Michelin-starred Star Inn at Harome as well as lots of other excellent foodie options in the area.
You're also close to Castle Howard, York and the North Yorkshire coast, so lots of choice for day trips.
