Welcome to a super cosy 17th century cottage tucked away in the heart of Robin Hood's Bay. It's the perfect little hideaway for couples yearning for a break by the sea, with the beach within a half-mile stroll from the doorstep. Hidden away down one of the Bay's myriad of streets and dating back to 1668, once inside, you feel totally secluded with the joy of knowing all the cafes, pubs and shops in the village are within easy reach.
The entrance to the cottage is via a flight of stone steps, leading to the cliff-top garden. Step inside to find a warm and welcoming bijou kitchen/diner. There's a living flame coal effect gas fire to keep you toasty from morning to night, whatever the weather is doing outside.
The handsome kitchen features shaker units and a sleek granite worktop. There are an induction hob, electric oven and built-in microwave as well as a compact fridge and mini freezer. The usual small appliances are also provided including a cafetière for your morning coffee in the garden. Switch on the living flame coal effect gas fire and settle down to eat at the solid oak table. There are few things more pleasurable than a long lazy breakfast by a real fire. For dinner, pop into the local fishmongers for some seafood fresh off the boat.
Make your way into the charming snug sitting room. An original cast iron fireplace provides lots of character, as do exposed beams overhead and original stripped pine doors. Snuggle up on the sofa or settle down on the comfy armchair with a good book. There is a TV, DVD and Wi-Fi for your evening entertainment, and a SONOS sound system to provide your own soundtrack. You'll also find a good stock of local interest books and walking guides available.
The bedroom and bathroom in this cosy coastal cottage are both upstairs in the eaves of the house so do mind your head on the ceiling up here. The bedroom features a double bed and fitted wardrobes to store all your walking gear. Just next door is the stylish bathroom with a bath and shower overhead. Run yourself a warm bath and sink in, the perfect end to a day's walking along the coast.
Outside the cottage, step down into a sweet little sheltered terraced garden complete with a patio, bistro table and rattan chairs. With sunshine all day and naturally sheltered from the elements, it's just the spot for lunch alfresco or an afternoon tipple before heading down into the village for dinner. And later back in the garden, a chimenea provides warmth well into the evening. Secure storage for bikes too.
