Take a look inside this stunning Grade II listed Yorkshire farmhouse dating back to the 16th century. This beautiful building is set in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, surrounded on all sides by breathtaking Dales scenery. With generous accommodation including a snug and three bedrooms each with their own private bathroom, this is a grand and gorgeous rural retreat in one of the UK's most picturesque landscapes.
Nestling in the lush green pastures of Coverdale in a private and secluded position, this handsome period building has its origins in the 1500s. With bags of character inside and out, this beautiful cottage is one of the most unique and special holiday homes in Yorkshire. Step inside to discover a house full of period charm, with all of life's modern comforts thrown in. Sturdy Yorkshire flagstone floors, exposed beams and stone walls combine with elegant furniture and style to create a comfortable welcoming home.
As you enter, you'll find a large boot room/utility and WC, handy for storing those muddy boots after a day's walking in the Dales. The ground floor is also home to the living room, snug, kitchen and dining space. The living room is a spacious room with exposed beams and a roaring open fire set within an inglenook fireplace. Two period windows and original window shutters add to the period appeal. It's a comfortable and warm room, the perfect place for settling in by the fire and having a good old catch up.
In addition to the living room is a separate snug, great if the kids want to escape from the adults for a while (or vice-versa!). The snug comes complete with a wood burner, TV and DVD player. A cosy space to enjoy a family movie.
The kitchen continues the traditional look with a stunning old heavy beam resting above the electric AGA. All the usual mod cons are provided including a combination microwave oven, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. A granite kitchen island and bar stools provide a nice spot for a pre-dinner glass of bubbly. The dining room is separated from the kitchen by original open stone shelving creating an interesting and atmospheric place to dine. Light some candles and enjoy an evening banquet of fresh Yorkshire produce in this gorgeous room.
All of the bedrooms are on the first floor and each one enjoys access to its own private bathroom. The master bedroom boasts a lovely exposed stone wall and a super king-sized bed. The en-suite shower for this room is accessed via a small flight of stairs in the same room.
The remaining bedrooms have super king-size beds which can also be configured as two singles if preferred. Both of their en-suite bathrooms are right next door and feature a bath to sink into each evening.
There is much to enjoy outside this exquisite holiday home too. Extensive grounds include a huge enclosed lawned garden, perfect for summer picnics, and a pretty sheltered patio by the house. Enjoy a long lazy lunch alfresco with the sights and sounds of nature all around you. The views from the gardens are amazing and offer the perfect place to spot local Yorkshire wildlife. Everything from pheasants to wild deer are likely to make an appearance.
