Lavender Cottage is a charming holiday cottage which can comfortably accommodate up to 4 guests The cottage is set in Pateley Bridge amidst 5 acres of land. With its elevated position above this pretty Yorkshire Dales town, the views of Nidderdale are simply stunning. And you can enjoy them from the comfort of your own Swedish sauna!
Lavender Cottage in the Yorkshire Dales offers a retreat from the hectic pace of modern life. Set in a converted barn on the side of a valley the owners have taken great care to create a warm and cosy holiday cottage. Real oak flooring and subtle lighting throughout helps to create this peaceful ambiance.
All of the accommodation is on one floor, with the exception of one small step at each end of the kitchen (both with handrails) and one small step in the bathroom into the shower. Ideal for those with reduced mobility or small children. Additional mobility aids such as a raised toilet seat, toilet support stand and a removable shower seat are available if required. There is a stylish open-plan living space at the heart of the cottage complete with comfy sofas and a folding dining table by the arched patio doors. With the doors thrown open in the warmer months there is a real connection with the surrounding Yorkshire Dales countryside outside the cottage.
This living space also houses a double bed giving the cottage a stylish open-plan look; perfect for couples looking for a romantic retreat. And of course all of the contemporary comforts are here; a large LCD TV, Freeview, DVD player and internet access are all included in Lavender Cottage. The cottage has recently installed a new Wi-Fi router to ensure good coverage throughout the house.
There are a further 2 single bedrooms accessed via the living space, ideal if you are travelling with small children. Both have that same cosy appeal, with a natural simple style. There is also a family bathroom complete with a stand-in shower. Just what you need to invigorate you after a bracing walk across the Dales!
Outside Lavender Cottage there is a very pleasant sheltered patio featuring those amazing views of the valley below. There is also a fabulous Swedish sauna available exclusively for guests use. A delightful way to wake up each morning!
Lavender Cottage has a fantastic location. Set on the hillside above Pateley Bridge in Nidderdale it offers the peace and tranquillity of the Yorkshire Dales countryside with the delights of Yorkshire village life just a walk away.
With miles of stunning walks and mountain bike trails literally from the doorstep, the cottage is heaven for lovers of all things outdoors. Heading behind the cottage takes you higher up into the Nidderdale moorlands with some magnificent cross-country walking. If you prefer a gentler stroll, making your way back along the path towards Pateley Bridge also offers some fantastic panoramic views of Nidderdale and village below.
Pateley Bridge itself is a charming little market town very typical of this area of Yorkshire. The Main Street is peppered with cafes, restaurants, local stores, quality butchers and a fantastic wine shop, everything you need to stock up for your stay. You'll also find the self-proclaimed 'Oldest Sweet Shop in England' here dating back to the early 1800s - little has changed inside since then.
Pateley Bridge sits at the heart of the breathtaking Nidderdale landscape, itself an AONB and immediately adjacent to the Yorkshire Dales National Park. There are bags of local attractions and stunning natural sights within easy driving distance and with Harrogate less than half an hour away, there's lots of choice for day trips.
