Relax in this handsome stone-built barn conversion set on the cusp of Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales. With generous accommodation and an elegantly understated style, this is a gorgeous holiday home just perfect for an escape to the country.

Downstairs, you'll find a bright open-plan space home to the lounge, kitchen and breakfast bar area. Oak floorboards underfoot and exposed beams overhead give the room bags of warmth and character. For your entertainment there's a Smart TV with Netflix, perfect if you fancy a movie night after a day exploring the Dales. Wi-Fi is also provided.

Make your way over to the spacious kitchen complete with its shaker-style units and breakfast bar. The facilities include a double oven cooker with induction hob, microwave and the usual small appliances. A separate boot room is home to a dishwasher, washing machine and fridge.

The master bedroom is set upstairs and boasts a super king-sized bed as well as far-reaching views out across the open countryside. Exposed beams overhead lend further character to this room. There's also a TV up here if you fancy catching up on some morning telly in your pyjamas. The bathroom is next door, home to a large walk-in shower, perfect for jumping into each morning to wake you up.

There is much to enjoy outside this rural holiday home too. Discover a large enclosed garden with a lawned area perfect for picnics, as well as a separate patio area complete with table and chairs. It's a very pleasant spot for lunch alfresco, or perhaps an afternoon tipple.

The property is set within open countryside on the outskirts of Newton-le-Willows, a pretty little village in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Equidistant from the Yorkshire market towns of Bedale and Leyburn, the village itself is charming and there is a welcoming tearoom with great views within walking distance from the cottage.

Beyond the village, the attractive town of Bedale is worth a visit. Stop for a coffee before making your way around the town's antique shops. In the opposite direction, you'll find the charming market town of Leyburn. Leyburn is an archetypical slice of Dales market town life. You'll find traditional shops, pubs and cafes all gathered around the handsome town square, which hosts a busy market every Friday. Leyburn is also home to the biggest auction centre outside of London if you fancy picking up a bargain.

Nearby you'll also find the historic town of Richmond and Masham, a thriving market town where handsome Georgian buildings gather around a cobbled square. The square is one of the largest and finest in England famous for its sheep sale where in the past as many as 70,000 sheep were sold here every year. The popular Masham Sheep Fair is held in September each year and commemorates these times.

There are lots of delights to discover in the town including an excellent fine dining restaurant, a host of lovely cafes, a top-notch wine shop and several very good butchers. And if you enjoy a tipple or two, it's also home to two award-winning breweries, Theakstons and Black Sheep. Both have visitor centres where you can take brewery tours, sample their ales, enjoy excellent food and perhaps take a few bottles home for later too.

There are lots of other pretty villages and stunning natural sights all within close range of the property. Aysgarth Falls and Bolton Castle are both under 18 miles away and the attractive villages of West Burton and Askrigg are within 23 miles, so lots of choices for things to do if you want to get out and about. If walking is your thing, the Yorkshire Dales are something of a walker's paradise. And there are plenty of options for cycling too in Tour De France country.
