Welcome to Riversong, a gorgeous Grade II listed 2-bedroom holiday cottage set directly opposite Aysgarth Falls in Wensleydale. Immaculate in every way, this divine little cottage is the perfect hideaway for couples or young families looking to explore this beautiful part of the Yorkshire Dales. Lovely walks right from the doorstep as well as a charming teashop just a stone's throw away.
Looking directly out over the falls and River Ure, Riversong is aptly named as you can hear the water from the cottage. Throw open the windows in the summer months and enjoy that soothing sound.
Step inside to discover an elegant open-plan living space home to the lounge, kitchen and dining area. Wooden shutters and an exposed stone fireplace lend character to this charming space. The wood-burner keeps everything warm and toasty, whatever the weather outside. Riversong also has the benefit of underfloor heating throughout.
Take your pick from a comfy sofa or handsome armchair by the fire to snuggle up on. Plenty of options for your evening entertainment with a SMART TV complete with Freeview and Netflix. There's also a Blu Ray DVD player and a selection of DVDs if you fancy settling down to a movie.
The kitchen area is to the rear of the cottage. Grey shaker style units combine with solid oak worktops to provide a stylish, contemporary look. All the usual mod cons are provided including an induction hob, electric oven / grill, dishwasher and fridge with ice-box for those afternoon G & Ts. There's also a Nespresso Coffee machine for your elevenses.
Dinner is served on a drop-leaf wooden table next to the kitchen. Pick up some local produce from the fantastic Campbells of Leyburn and rustle up a hearty Yorkshire meal.
Downstairs is also home to a handy downstairs loo.
Both bedrooms in this luxury Wensleydale cottage are set upstairs. The master bedroom boasts views out over the waterfalls and has a lovely king-size bed to retreat to each evening. Another SMART TV up here allows you to indulge in a little morning TV whilst you make plans for the day.
The second bedroom is to the rear, a darling twin room with two full size single beds. A further SMART TV with integrated DVD player allows little ones (and adults!) to enjoy their own space. Both bedrooms feature elegant wooden shutters giving the rooms a light and airy feel.
The family bathroom is also upstairs and offers a large walk-in shower.
Outside the cottage a wooden bench to the front allows you to enjoy the views and sounds of the river whilst taking in the sun. It's a very pleasant spot for an evening glass of fizz in the summer months. And when you feel the need to stretch your legs, venture out on one of the walking routes along and around the river.
Riversong is in Aysgarth in Wensleydale, one of the most appealing parts of the Yorkshire Dales. Set right on the banks of the River Ure looking out over Aysgarth Falls, there is a certain magical appeal to this holiday cottage. The cottage sits next to Yore Mill, now home to charming tearooms and craft shop selling a range of gifts and souvenirs.
The handsome Dales village of Aysgarth is on your doorstep, featuring several great options to eat within easy walking distance from the cottage. Beyond the village lies the exquisite landscape of Wensleydale. The views here are simply stunning… The scene is one of lush valleys, mellow pastures and pretty villages, criss-crossed with acres of dry-stone walls along its 40 mile length.
Wensleydale is also famed for its waterfalls, the most notable being Aysgarth Falls, right beside the cottage, and Hardraw Force. Wensleydale also borders the wild and magnificent dales of Swaledale and Arkengarthdale to the North. A great choice for a day trip if you want to get away from it all.
It's something of a walker's paradise in the Yorkshire Dales with several pleasant walks right from your doorstep. There are also lots of pretty villages and stunning natural sights all within close range of Riversong. Jervaulx Abbey and Bolton Castle are a few miles away, the thriving market town of Hawes (home of the now famous Wensleydale cheese) is just a few minutes by car and the gorgeous villages of West Burton and Askrigg are also just a short drive from here, so lots of choice for things to do if you want to get out and about.
