Welcome to Spinners Cottage, a stunning 3-storey luxury cottage set in the charming town of Holmfirth in West Yorkshire. Best known as the setting for 'Last of the Summer Wine' Holmfirth nestles in the beautiful Holme Valley and is the perfect base from which to explore the Dales to the North and the Peak District to the South. Sleeping up to 8 people very comfortably, this stylish and spacious contemporary home is a great option for special family holidays.
Spinners Cottage is a handsome new-build property which sits in an elevated position overlooking the town. As you would expect with a new property, the interiors are just immaculate and no expense has been spared with creating a comfortable and elegant holiday home. Everything from the solid oak flooring underfoot to the latest mod cons shouts quality and style.
Downstairs you'll find a large open plan space home to the lounge, kitchen and dining area. In the lounge take your pick from two comfy sofas or an armchair by the window. A wood-burner keeps the room nice and toasty if you fancy snuggling up with a good book and glass of red. For your evening entertainment there's a 49" SMART TV, perfect for those family movie nights by the fire.
If you fancy making your own entertainment, a new sound bar/docking station type speaker has been installed under the tv to enhance sound, but more importantly you can connect your phones/iPads by Bluetooth and play your own music in really good hi fi quality.
Make your way through to the contemporary kitchen. With its sleek white units and mood lighting it's the perfect place to cook and entertain. Rustle up dinner whilst someone keeps you company on the bar stools. Made for preparing family meals you'll find all the usual equipment in the kitchen including a double oven/microwave grill, 5 ring gas hob, a large fridge/freezer, Nespresso Coffee machine and a dishwasher. There's also a washing machine available with a dryer under the stairs, handy if you have little ones who just love to jump in muddy puddles!
The dining table sits next to the kitchen and features a gorgeous rustic wooden table made from reclaimed Vietnamese pine. It's a lovely spot for those memorable family meals when the hustle bustle of everyday life seems far away. The dining table sits right beside bi-folding doors leading out into a sheltered courtyard, so in the summer months you can throw open the doors and let the outside in. Downstairs is also home to a handy WC.
All of the bedrooms in Spinners Cottage are upstairs and have their own 24" SMART TVs. On the first floor you'll find two beautiful bedrooms boasting king size beds and en suite facilities. The master bedroom is just gorgeous and comes complete with a walk-in dressing room and en suite shower room. Looking out to the front of the property it affords lovely views of the town and surrounding countryside. The en suite feels like a 5 Star Hotel with its Carrara marble tiles, underfloor heating, grey oak units and backlit mirror.
The second bedroom on this floor sits to the rear of the property. This time the en suite has a bath and monsoon shower overhead. Perfect if you enjoy long hot soaks in the evenings or need to scrub down children.
Up to the second floor at the top of the house to find the remaining two bedrooms. Both of these rooms feature two full size single beds which can also be configured as doubles if required. (Please state at the point of booking otherwise beds will be made up as singles ) The bedroom to the front has a small office area if you have some work to catch up on. Both bedrooms on this floor share the family bathroom, another luxurious room with a bath and shower overhead. It also has underfloor heating, Travertine tiles and a heated towel rail.
There is much to love outside this large luxury cottage too. To the front you'll find a lawned area with fabulous views across town and down the valley. Throw out a picnic blanket and enjoy lunch with this gorgeous back-drop. To the rear is an enclosed courtyard complete with outdoor furniture for those al fresco lunches and during the summer months a gas bbq is also available. Steps lead up to elevated lawned terrace area above.

Spinners Cottage is set in the famous town of Holmfirth, known as the setting for the much-loved series 'Last of the Summer Wine'. It's a popular town not just with fans of the show; walkers & cyclists flock here to explore the beautiful Holme Valley and its good selection of restaurants and pubs make it a great location from which to explore this part of Yorkshire. Quaint cobbled streets and friendly locals make you feel like you've stepped back in time. But that's not to say Holmfirth is stuck in the past. Its home to the Picturedrome, one of the North's finest live music venues. And various craft, food and farmer's markets take place in the town every week allowing you to stock up on quality local produce.
If you want to stay active Holmfirth has a leisure centre with swimming pool nearby and in Huddersfield there's an impressive new sports complex complete with a Climbing centre.
The town is surrounded by beautiful countryside on all sides, and there are lots of popular walking routes within easy reach. Digley Reservoir, Holme Valley Riverside Way and Holme Moss View Point are just a few.
Just a few miles south takes you into the Peak District National Park, a land of breath-taking scenery, chocolate box villages, woodlands and grand country houses. Enjoy a day out at the fabulous Chatsworth House with its grand gardens, family farm and adventure playground. Stop in Bakewell for one of its famous tarts or just pack up a basket and find the perfect spot by a river for a family picnic. There is so much to do and see here.
And if you want to keep one foot on urban ground head North to Leeds, this vibrant cosmopolitan city is less and hour away and is packed with designer shops, cafes and top notch restaurants. Plenty to keep even the most discerning shopper happy! And in the opposite direction you'll find the equally vibrant city of Manchester, again less than an hour's drive away.
