- We had a lovely time at Stracey Cottage, could not fault anything.

Stracey Cottage is one of two Edwardian gatehouses which have been lovingly restored into a beautiful luxury holiday cottage.
The decor is classic contemporary, with lots of little touches throughout which make it feel incredibly comfortable and homely.
Downstairs you'll find the kitchen, dining area and sitting room. The kitchen has loads of character with its range cooker and sweet little window seat - the perfect spot to perch with a glass of bubbly before dinner!
And in the sitting room light the wood-burner, stretch out and relax. It's so cosy in here, particularly at night with the candles glowing in the background...
Both bedrooms are upstairs. A gorgeous master bedroom with double aspect windows to throw open with views of the parkland beyond. And a charming twin room just perfect for little ones. There's also a family bathroom with a bath and separate walk in shower.
There is off-road parking available at the front of the cottage and to the rear is a delightful and generous shared garden with a patio area. Perfect for a spot of al fresco dining while the kids blow off some steam!
The cottage is set in the lovely estate village of Hotham in the Yorkshire Wolds. Typical of many of the villages in this area, Hotham is set right beside a grand country estate with acres of traditional English parkland to explore. It's perfect if you want to take your bike out or fancy a conker collecting expedition with the little ones in the Autumn months.
There is an excellent pub in the village [The Hotham Arms] and several more good dining pubs within a short drive. The landlord Joe is a real character in the area and he will ensure you arrive to a very warm welcome. We loved the open fires and candlelit ambiance inside... And if you feel like dining in we recommend the short trip to Drewtons Farm Shop, just a mile or so from the cottage. Stock up on the finest Yorkshire produce here, from excellent local beef to the most amazing pies and cakes. There is also a very good cafe here which is open 7 days a week.
Hotham is an ideal base from which to explore all that this area has to offer. The beautiful city of Beverley is just 10 minutes' drive from the cottage. Explore the stunning Beverley Minster before indulging in a spot of shopping around its lively cobbled squares. Finish off with a drink in Nellies, a traditional Yorkshire pub where time has stood still for decades.
And beyond the town, get to know the gorgeous Yorkshire Wolds, a range of low rolling hills rising from the river Humber and sweeping along to the stunning cliffs at Flamborough Head. The gentle nature of the countryside here makes it an excellent location for walking and cycling
The Wolds are also home to many historical homes and religious sites as well as one of Yorkshire's largest lavender gardens. And for kids there are heaps of fantastic attractions nearby (indoor and out) including the excellent Yorkshire Wildlife Park and The Deep in Hull.
The Yorkshire Coast, North York Moors and beautiful city of York are also all within easy driving distance from Park Cottage and make for a great day trip.
