Welcome to this truly gorgeous two-bedroom luxury holiday cottage set within the grounds of a 16th century farmhouse near York. Arriving here is like stepping into an interiors magazine, and with its stunning setting on the cusp of a typically Yorkshire village, you're sure to fall instantly in love with this perfect country hideaway.

The cottage has been a real labour of love by its owners who have totally transformed this brick building into a luxurious and stylish holiday cottage. The exterior has a magical chocolate box appeal and you'll arrive to a generous welcome hamper including homemade bread, cakes and Temple Spa luxury spa products.

Inside this wonderful cottage, you'll find a charming open-plan living space housing the lounge, kitchen and dining area. Underfloor heating throughout ensures you're toasty warm whatever the weather. The lounge comes complete with plenty of comfortable seats to settle down on and there's a Smart TV as well as Wi-Fi to keep you entertained.

The kitchen sits to the rear and is a real country cottage delight with its solid wood worktops and bespoke handmade units. A cream range cooker and large Belfast sink complete the country-chic look. The oak dining table nestles comfortably in between the kitchen and lounge. It's such a cosy little spot for dining, whatever the time of day. Enjoy a hearty cooked breakfast here, a slap-up lunch or a champagne candlelit dinner.

There are two elegant bedrooms, the first of which is set on ground level. This room boasts a chunky double oak bed dressed in the finest cotton bedding. Double aspect windows provide lovely views of the gardens and let bags of light into this pretty room. The bathroom sits next door, with Jack and Jill access from this bedroom and the main living space. The bathroom has a real wow factor, boasting a fabulous wet room with a huge walk-in shower. The second bedroom is upstairs; a large and bright room featuring a king-size bed which can also be set up as two singles if required. Accents of greys and creams give this room a really peaceful and elegant feel.

There is much to enjoy outside this beautiful property. Directly outside the cottage, you'll find a lovely landscaped patio of stone and gravel set beside a horses' paddock. Outdoor furniture and a BBQ are provided so you can enjoy a balmy evening dining alfresco with only the horses next door to keep you company. The cottage is set within well-maintained gardens and enjoys uninterrupted views of the gorgeous Yorkshire countryside.

The property is set in the village of Ellerton, a charming little village less than 17 miles from Central York. You have the best of both worlds here, the delightful small village atmosphere of old Yorkshire twinned with the vibrant city of York.

The jewel in North Yorkshire's crown, we think York is one of the best visitor destinations in England. But don't just take our word for it. Voted 'Best UK City' by the Telegraph's travel section in 2008, York is a favourite amongst even the most seasoned of travellers. Make your way around its medieval cobbled streets and discover its many shops, cafes and restaurants.

Ellerton is an ideal base from which to explore The Yorkshire Wolds. Still a relatively quiet location in terms of tourism, the Yorkshire Wolds are a range of beautiful low rolling hills rising from the river Humber and sweeping along to the stunning cliffs at Flamborough Head, peppered with countless pretty villages and towns. A favourite with David Hockney, it inspired many of his greatest works including 'Bigger Trees Near Warter in 2007' - his largest ever work. The gentle nature of the countryside here also makes it an excellent location for walking and cycling.

The Wolds are home to many historical homes and religious sites, as well as one of Yorkshire's largest lavender gardens. You are also well-placed to discover the stunning North York Moors as this dramatic landscape of heather and open moorland is about 25 miles away. Somewhat smaller than the Yorkshire Dales, the North Yorkshire Moors still cover an area of almost 600 square miles and like the Dales, you can easily find yourself miles from anywhere relatively quickly. But there is something distinctly more civilised and less remote about the Moors. In place of harsh limestone and dramatic peaks, you'll find gently rolling hills of heather, ancient woodland and lazy rivers winding through lush green valleys. There is a sense of wilderness, particularly on top of the high central moorlands, but it is cast in comforting soft focus.

The Pigeon Cote is a perfect little home away from home in the tranquility of the Yorkshire countryside. Well decorated, well equipped and comfortable. The hosts have thought of everything and there was even basic food items in the cupboard and fridge - salt, pepper, tomato sauce, beans, porridge and of course tea and milk! This property was absolutely stunning!! So much thought and love has gone into making it an amazing place to stay. The little details were lovely and keeping the original pigeon nesting areas in the walls was so lovely to see!! Every day we saw something new. You could literally go there and apart from shopping, the cottage had all the utensils andRead more equipment you could possibly need for self catering, and more!!!!
