About The Stables

The Stables is a beautiful barn conversion situated just outside a pretty village in the North York Moors. With an out-door hot-tub, pretty courtyard garden and an impressive leisure suite included, it's a fabulous holiday cottage for those looking for something extra. And there is a heavenly country pub within walking distance...

The charm of the old farm buildings have been preserved perfectly with the use of exposed wooden beams and brickwork, however the interior has a classic contemporary finish. There are 2 large double bedrooms, one with a large en-suite bathroom and the second with access to a wet-room.

The cottage also features a lovely farmhouse kitchen and a very comfortable lounge / dining area complete with wood burning stove. Flagstone flooring (with underfloor heating) lends a stylish touch.

The south facing courtyard and gardens feature a hot tub, patio and barbecue area, perfect for al fresco frolics in the warmer months. In the winter months the wood burning stove and comfy sofas make for the perfect snug hideaway.

The cottage also has access to some fantastic leisure facilities including its own private hot-tub. There's also a mini-gym, treatment room, sauna and relaxation area. You'll also find a fully stocked games room with table tennis, pool and table football.

Local Area

The cottage is set in the rolling Howardian Hills in the western reaches of the North York Moors.  Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1987, the lush pastures and woodlands of the western Moors play host to grand country houses, atmospheric ruins and handsome market towns.   The very pretty village of Hovingham is just a few minutes' drive and features several pubs, a tea-rooms and local store.

The beautiful market town of Helmsley is also close by and is well worth a visit.  If you fancy a little pampering you'll find a fantastic day Spa here; the Verbena Spa.  Perfect for a little me time indulgence!

You're also close to Castle Howard, York and the North Yorkshire coast, so lots of choice for day trips.

And if you're looking for the perfect country pub, the gorgeous Grapes at Slingsby is a very pleasant stroll along a bridleway - the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

A beautifully furnished barn conversion in a lovely rural setting but close to many interesting places. Interesting original features and a high level of comfort and furnishings. Everything you could possibly need is provided. Excellent welcome basket of provisions. Hot tub, gym and sauna an added bonus. Lovely garden.

It is one of two cottages which are in closer proximity than we had anticipated. The second property is larger and sharing of courtyard/garden area meant it was rather noisy on occasion and parking was rather awkward due to the number of cars from the other cottage. The close proximity of the two cottages and the range of facilities would make it a great venue for big get togethers of family or friends.

Had a wonderful holiday in Stables cottage. Really enjoyed the hot tub and gym. Just wish we had stayed longer. Surrounding towns and villages beautiful. Ideal location for visiting York and coastal towns. Would highly recommend Cherrygarth Cottages.

Had a wonderful stay at the stables. Accommodation spotless, which is rare to find with pet friendly. Loved the little extras - molton brown toiletries, welcome basket with everything for breakfast, prosecco, flowers, gown and slippers to use for hot tub. The only reason I haven't gave 10 out of 10 is the garden, although very pretty, is not private and is shared with another cottage. This is not clear on the description of the cottage. Our fury friend is not great with other dogs but we were lucky the other cottage was not occupied during our stay so she could roam free. If it was occupied, the holiday may have felt very different.
