About Warwick Coach House
Intimate, stylish and perfectly proportioned, welcome to Warwick Coach House. This one-bedroom bolthole nestles in the heart of one of Wensleydale's prettiest villages and looks directly out towards Middleham Castle. Some lovely cafes and restaurants a stone's throw away and just a short walk will take you into Yorkshire's glorious open countryside. It's the perfect choice for honeymoons and those who want to whisk their loved one away for a grown-up treat.
The subject of a recent and outstanding refurbishment, Warwick Coach House has been crafted into one of Yorkshire's most eclectic and romantic holiday cottages. Open the charming stable door to find an elegant open-plan living space with a bespoke kitchen and handsome sitting room. Classic style and contemporary comforts combine to create a calm and peaceful room. You'll love feeling the heated flagstone floors underfoot before sinking into the comfy sofa for a read. And in the evenings fire up the wood-burner and catch up on the large LCD TV
The quirky layout of the kitchen makes great use of the space. It's really well equipped with everything any keen cook could want and there are plenty of mod cons including a dishwasher, microwave and washer-dryer. We're rather fond of the Jamie Oliver glassware too.
Make your way upstairs to the stunning master bedroom. Like something from a 5 Star Hotel, this breath-taking room features a beautiful king size bed and dramatic monsoon shower set behind a glass wall. It's glamorous and romantic, while the soft Farrow & Ball walls give it a sophisticated vibe. The bed is dressed in the finest White Company bed linen and features a top quality HYPNOS mattress. The en suite includes a WC, and there are complimentary toiletries and bath-robes to enjoy.
Outside there is a private and sheltered patio with a great view of the castle walls. It's a lovely spot for your morning coffee; sit and imagine what was going on in the castle opposite you many hundreds of years ago. And later on you can wrap up, pop open a bottle of wine and cosy down in front of the chimenea...

Warwick Coach House is set in the heart of Middleham village in Wensleydale, one of Yorkshire's loveliest villages. Famous for its castle (once home to Richard III) it's also home to several race-horse trainers; you will see and hear the horses being lead through the village up to the gallops every day. And to top it off there is a lovely collection of pubs, cafes, restaurants and shops. We love it so much it features in our Top 10 Prettiest Yorkshire Villages - the perfect location for a holiday cottage!
Opposite the cottage is a charming tearooms if you fancy a treat at elevenses, and for dinner you can opt for pub grub at the Richard III traditional pub or perhaps some Italian food at the renowned White Swan. You can order a take-out pizza from here too. There's also a village store and a couple of bric-a-brac shops to mooch around. Just a few miles out of the village is the fantastic attraction The Forbidden Corner. Regularly voted the best family attraction in Yorkshire, it's also well worth a look even if there are no children in your party.
In the opposite direction you'll find the charming market town of Leyburn. Leyburn is an archetypical slice of Dales market town life. You'll find traditional shops, pubs and cafes all gathered around the handsome town square, which hosts a busy market every Friday. Leyburn is also home to the biggest auction centre outside of London if you fancy picking up a bargain. The nearby historic town of Richmond is similar in many ways, and has a lovely setting along the River Swale.
There are lots of other pretty villages and stunning natural sights all within close range of Warwick Cottage. Aysgarth Falls and Bolton Castle are just a few miles away and the gorgeous villages of West Burton and Askrigg are within easy driving distance, so lots of choice for things to do if you want to get out and about. If walking is your thing, the Yorkshire Dales are something of a walker's paradise. And there are plenty of options for cycling too in Tour De France country. Our concierge will be more than happy to recommend some walks and cycle routes for you if required.
And when you need to refuel stop at one of the areas many excellent gastro pubs. Our favourites include the Wensleydale Heifer in West Witton and the Blue Lion at East Witton, all within a short drive of the cottage.
