The UK’s Capital of Cake!

Who doesn’t enjoy a nice bit of cake washed down with a cup of (preferably Yorkshire) tea…

If you are among the millions of those who love all things sweet then it’s probably time you paid the North York Moors a visit. This stunning place has been proclaimed as the UK’s Capital of Cake! Here’s why…

UK Capital of Cake

Cake 1

Yorkshire folk are partial to a bit of a cake, something they think first arrived with the Vikings all those years ago. And now this love of cake is being extended to anyone coming to visit Yorkshire and the North York Moors in particular.

Wherever you go in this wonderful place we invite you to come and eat cake…

In a café or cottage, in an abbey or arboretum, in a wood, by a waterfall or walled garden, on a bike ride or after a baking class, after a foreshore forage, on a farm, in a manor house, a stately home or an old school, on a village green or in a village hall, in a pub, a former post office or a tea parlour…

You can find out more on the official website:

Gorgeous Cottages, Gorgeous Cakes!

We are delighted to be a part of this cake revolution and are pleased to say that every guest arriving to one of our luxury cottages in the North York Moors will arrive to something sweet.

Whether that’s a home-made pavlova at Foxglove Cottage,  set of just baked biscuits at The Retreat, some lemon drizzle cake at Cowslip Cottage or a delicious scone with jam & cream at Rosella… Yum!
