Living North Christmas Fair, York Racecourse, 8th – 11th November
Stock up for the festive period at the fabulous Living North Christmas Fair which takes place at York Racecourse. You’ll find lots of artisan food and drink suppliers, hand-made gifts and even chef demonstrations.
Christmas in York, 15th November – 23rd December
York celebrates the festive period in style from the 15th November this year. There will be shopping at the St. Nicholas Christmas Fair, ice skating at Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland and a Victorian Christmas at the York Castle Museum.
Harrogate Christmas Market, 15th – 18th November
Christmas comes to Harrogate in November with it’s annual Christmas Market taking place on The Stray. There are more than 200 stalls selling gifts, treats and an array of Yorkshire Food and Drink. The Christmas lights are lit on the 15th November with a celebration outside the Victoria Shopping Centre.
Lady Betty Christmas Afternoon Tea, 8th November onwards
Enjoy a festive edition of Bettys famous afternoon tea this year with a selection of Christmas treats served alongside their traditional favourites.
Malton Monthly Food Market, 10th November and 8th December
Pay a trip to Malton’s monthly food market and discover why it has been named Yorkshire’s Food Capital. You’ll find lots of artisan food providers and can call in the Talbot Yard Food Court for locally made Rare Bird Gin and Florian Poirot Macarons.
The December edition of the food fair will be a Christmas themed extravaganza.
Castle Howard at Christmas, 17th November – 21st December
Castle Howard will be ready for Christmas from the 17th November. This year’s theme is the 12 Days of Christmas and you can expect ornate decorations and spectacular centre pieces.
Dickensian Festival, Grassington, 1st and 2nd December
Step back in time with a trip to the annual Christmas Dickensian Festival in the pretty Yorkshire Dales village of Grassington. An assortment of brass bands and choirs provide the music and you’ll traditional entertainment such as Punch and Judy and a Barrel Organ.
Robin Hoods Bay Victorian Weekend, 8th and 9th December
This annual Victorian weekend is always a lot of fun to attend with activities including Welly Throwing, a fancy dress costume competition and lots of Victorian games. There’s guided walks, informative talks and the chance to look in some of the traditional fisherman’s cottages.
The Christmas Adventure at Stockfield Park
Stockfield Park’s Christmas Adventure is open until the 7th January and includes a Nordic Ski Trail, a covered ice skating rink, fun maze and an illuminated enchanted forest.
Christmas at Burton Agnes Hall, 14th November – 23rd December
The majestic Burton Agnes Hall is transformed into a winter wonderland for the Christmas period with hand-made decorations, an enchanted woodland village and even swimming swans in the dining room. Special events include Christmas Craft Wednesdays and special twilight weekend on the 7th, 8th and 9th December.
‘Glow’ Winter Illuminations at Harlow Carr in Harrogate, 22nd November – 29th December
Special festive lighting gives a magical glow to this popular Harrogate garden. You’ll find illuminated trails to follow and the chance to see the gardens including the Winter Walk in a whole new light. It’s open between 4.30pm and 8.00pm each Thursday to Saturday
Dreams of the 20s at Harewood House, 24th November – 6th January
Harewood House is transported back to the 20s for a magical Christmas to remember. You’ll find dreamy decorations in the house and garden along with festive music and Father Christmas himself.
