The Coach House is a stunning 4-bedroom holiday home near Castle Howard, just a few miles North of York. Grand and gorgeous in every way, it is the perfect retreat for family and friends to get together and share some precious time. Throw in bags of space, acres of private grounds (complete with your own tennis court), idyllic location and a village pub within walking distance, and we just may have the perfect large holiday cottage!
This is a very special property, one that has that illusive quality of luxury and comfort so that you feel special but completely at home from the moment you walk through the door…
The generous kitchen / dining room is the heart of this large luxury cottage in North Yorkshire. Step into a bright and welcoming space featuring a huge kitchen island, informal dining table and AGA keeping everything nice and toasty. What better place to gather each morning for a family breakfast or to pop open a bottle of bubbly in the evenings. The Coach House also boasts a gorgeous large formal dining room for those special occasions and a handy downstairs Cloakroom.
Next door to the kitchen you’ll find the house snug. With its cosy wood-burner and relaxed vibe it’s the perfect spot to settle down with a nice glass of red when all the kids are in bed. Or if you have older kids in tow they’ll love having their own space while you catch up with the grown-ups in the elegant sitting room at the end of the hall. This fabulous room looks directly out onto the formal gardens through patio doors, just waiting to be thrown open in the warmer months.
All of the bedrooms in The Coach House are upstairs. The first is a breath-taking master bedroom which enjoys the same views out to the formal gardens and meadow beyond. Enjoy the luxury of space in one of the largest bedrooms in our collection. This stunning room also has a walk-in dressing room and large en suite with his ‘n her sinks and contemporary shower.
The second bedroom is a charming twin room, again a generous size and looking out towards the gardens. It’s perfect for children or those who prefer their own space at night. The third room has a timeless appeal with its classic iron bedstead and antique furniture. This room also has an en suite bathroom complete with a bath and shower overhead. The 4th bedroom is set in the eaves of the house. Again with plenty of space this bedroom has a king-size zip & link bed, so can be set up as twins or a double to suit.
There is also a family bathroom up here. Echoing the same contemporary stylish theme as the rest of the house you’ll find a show-stopper roll-top bath and a walk-in shower to enjoy…
Outside this large luxury cottage is no less impressive. Set in several acres of completely private grounds, there is a lovely formal garden immediately in front of the house, leading on to a meadow beyond. At the bottom of the garden you’ll find a well-maintained tennis court, rackets and balls provided. Settle down to an afternoon G & T in the sun while the kids run around happily and safely.
There is a security deposit payable for this cottage. To book just check the Availability tab above or give us a call on 0877 376 6276 and we'll be delighted to help!
The Coach House is set in Foston, a sleepy little hamlet just 20 minutes from central York. This area of the North York Moors is known as the Howardian Hills. Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1987, the lush pastures and woodlands of the southern Moors play host to grand country houses, atmospheric ruins and handsome market towns. The landscape is particularly well suited to cyclists and walkers.

This quintessentially English tale of forbidden love and loss of innocence set pre WW11 has the perfect backdrop in this magnificent house and gardens. And when you have soaked in all this glamour make a stop at the fantastic farm shop on the way home to pick up the finest Yorkshire produce for dinner.
