This idyllic stone cottage sleeps four and provides an unforgettable escape just a stone’s throw from the village of Ingleton. A paradise for walkers and cyclists alike, don a pair of walking boots and set off along one of the many tracks and trails that start directly from the doorstep. Nestling under Ingleborough, one of the famous Yorkshire Three Peaks, Ingleton boasts a variety of independent shops and cafes just waiting to be explored. The village is surrounded by magnificent countryside with caves, waterfalls, and mountains, making it perfect for a whole host of outdoor pursuits. Set in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the picturesque Forest of Bowland can be reached in just 7 miles and the Lake District is only 20 miles away.

Once you have finished admiring the climbing wisteria and traditional brickwork of this period stone cottage, wander along the path leading to the porch and cast your boots to one side. You will immediately be wowed by the original features and stunning beams that adorn each room. Stylishly renovated with an added touch of luxury, yet still bursting with character and charm, the property is ideal for couples or friends to come together and make some unforgettable memories.

You will want to spend your downtime reclining on the sofas in the cosy lounge/diner. Settle down in front of the roaring wood burner on an evening and enjoy a glass of wine, read a book or watch a movie on the Smart TV. For those who can’t resist a spot of healthy competition, the table is an ideal perch for playing card games and board games. At mealtimes, light candles and make dinner a glamorous affair, and in the morning, you can tuck into a hearty breakfast whilst natural light pours into the room. Two steps lead up to the kitchen, where you’ll be able to whip up your favourite snacks and rummage through the thoughtful welcome pack left for you by the friendly owners.

The country-cottage kitchen is superbly finished with everything you could need to rustle up a hearty meal and boasts another dining table for a morning coffee or lazy brunches. There is an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher to make cooking and washing up a breeze, plus a handy washing machine for any laundry needs. With a farm shop less than 0.5 miles away, you’ll be able to craft fabulous feasts to surprise and delight your entire party. Completing the ground floor is a useful downstairs WC.

Retiring for the night, climb the stairs to the first floor to find two bedrooms, both beautifully styled with comfort in mind and equipped with comfortable king-size beds as well as ample storage. Completing the interior is a family bathroom with a shower over bath and WC, a sight that will prove very tempting for pamper sessions.

Outside, you will find a small enclosed tranquil garden to the front and a beautifully designed tiered garden at the rear. Grab a drink and relax on the patio area, taking in the views over towards Ingleborough. Take some time to revel in your surroundings and enjoy a refreshing drink or BBQ with loved ones whilst the children play on the lawn. On the nights you feel like a break from cooking, the pub is a 0.5-mile stroll away, but you also have bicycle storage if you would like to venture further afield.

Settle is a well-loved and bustling market town home to lots of lovely cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops. There's also a thriving market held in the town every Tuesday - the perfect place to pick up everything from flowers to dinner that night. If real ale is your thing, there are three fantastic real ale pubs set around the marketplace, so you can choose which one to try each evening!

Just outside of town, you can hop on the Settle to Carlisle railway, one of the most scenic routes in the UK which will take you over the well-known Ribblehead Viaduct (12 miles). Beyond Settle, you have the exquisite delights of the Yorkshire Dales. And, as you would expect, the surrounding countryside here is simply magnificent, perfect if you want to strike out from the cottage in your walking boots or on your bicycle.

The historic town of Skipton (16 miles) is also close by and offers a host of other attractions including its very own castle. There are lots of options to eat here as well as independent shops making it a great option for a full day out. Other nearby attractions include the Kilnsey Trout Farm and horse riding at Coniston or Malham.

It's a true walker's paradise here but if you're more of a roamer than a rambler, try a stroll around the grounds of nearby Bolton Abbey (22 miles). These gorgeous ruins provide the backdrop to a particularly beautiful part of the Dales and are well worth a visit. There are a host of other attractions all within easy reach including Malham Cove and Malham Tarn (both 8 miles).

Further still, Aysgarth 27 miles away is well worth a visit. Aysgarth is in Wensleydale, within the breathtaking Yorkshire Dales National Park and home to the Aysgarth Falls, which were featured in the film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. The village boasts many great options to eat, including popular pubs and cute cafes. If you visit in spring, you can’t leave without a visit to Freeholders’ Wood where bluebells, anemones and primroses will be in full bloom.

As hard as it will be to tear yourself away from the picturesque village, there’s plenty more to see and do in the local area. Hawes is a popular market town 18.5 miles away and is most famous as being the home of Wensleydale cheese. It also boasts lovely shops, pubs and tearooms. Walkers will also love the town as the Pennine Way passes through it, making it the perfect starting point for exploring the countryside.

The stunning landscape of Wensleydale itself includes 25 miles of lush valleys, crisscrossed with the area’s iconic dry-stone walls. If you enjoy walking and countryside views, you will not be short of things to do, with Wensleydale providing delightful moorland, dale-side and valley walks. Wensleydale is also sandwiched between Wharfedale and Swaledale if you fancy exploring further afield.

We had a lovely time in the cottage. Its very comfortable, well equipped and perfectly located for keen walkers like us. The only thing that was a little bit tricky was the parking (reversing into the drive after dark can be tricky especially in a larger car) but apart from that we cant really fault the place.

Spacious accommodation in good, quiet location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. Parking at the property is tricky better to reverse in. This cottage is very spacious with two big king sized rooms and a large but cozy lounge and dining area. We had two dogs with us and the garden, back and front, were lovely spaces for them. However the cottage is not really dog 'friendly', with cream carpets in the lounge and signs stating do not take your dog in the lounge with wet or dirty feet -Read more not that we would. We had a dry week but if it had been wet I think I would have been paranoid about the lovely cream carpet and light grey sofas. Hide

We had a great time at Bridleways Cottage in June 23. It's a lovely place! The location is perfect for exploring. It's quiet, with a private garden, a 10-15 minute walk to a good pub, and a 8 minute drive/ 30 minute walk to Ingleton that has some good pubs / places to eat and a great fish & chip shop!
