A beautifully finished barn conversion tucked away on the cusp of the North York Moors, offering elegant interiors and creature comforts for those looking to uncover the delights of the Yorkshire countryside.

This holiday cottage is an immaculate three-bedroom luxury barn conversion tucked away on the cusp of the North York Moors. Perfectly positioned between the handsome market towns of Pickering and Malton, this gorgeous property offers families the very best in self-catering accommodation. From its elegant interiors and modern comforts to its period character and stunning rural location, this is a wonderful escape to enjoy with those nearest and dearest to you.

It was transformed from an old farm building into a comfortable and generous holiday home, and the final property is beautifully presented. Combining the traditional with the contemporary effortlessly, the refurbishment retained original features like exposed oak beams whilst introducing modern luxuries like underfloor heating throughout downstairs.

At the heart of the home is the warm and inviting lounge, complete with a cosy wood-burning stove. There's a choice of cosy furniture to snuggle up on either close to the warming fire or by the window. Enjoy a good old catch up by the fire with a glass of red or settle down to a family movie on the flat screen TV. Netflix, Googleplay and a Blueray DVD player are provided so lots of options. Wi-Fi is also available.

Next door is the kitchen/diner, a generous and light-filled room with lots of space for the whole family. Families will love the large American-style fridge freezer, grown-ups will enjoy the wine cooler and all the other usual mod cons are provided including a dishwasher, induction hob and double oven. A separate utility is home to a washing machine, tumble dryer and handy downstairs loo.

The dining table sits in the heart of the kitchen, a chunky rustic table seating six comfortably. Just the spot for those precious family breakfasts where everyone can take as much time as they like. Full Yorkshire fry optional but highly recommended! A wall-mounted TV is also provided in here, a welcome addition for parents of little ones who require a little entertainment over dinner.

The kitchen leads onto a delightful sun room / snug area with amazing views out over the farmland and beyond. Throw open those patio doors and let the warm Yorkshire sunshine in. A heavenly spot to squirrel yourself away with a good book for the afternoon.

All three bedrooms in this pretty cottage are upstairs, the first of which is a fabulous master bedroom. This generous room boasts a king-size bed to stretch out on each night as well as a wall-mounted TV for those indulgent morning telly moments. There's also an en-suite shower room and loo.

The second bedroom is a charming double with dramatic high ceilings and exposed beams. Finally, bedroom number three is a sweet bunk room perfect for little ones. Both of these bedrooms also feature their own TVs.

The elegant family bathroom is upstairs. There's a bath as well as a separate walk-in shower, perfect for families and those who enjoy an indulgent long soak.

There is much to enjoy outside too. To the front of the cottage, accessed via patio doors from the kitchen/sunroom, you'll discover a large stone terrace with uninterrupted views across the farmland and countryside beyond. Outdoor furniture is provided for lunch alfresco and a fire pit allows you to enjoy this space well into the evening.

This holiday cottage also offers the facility to take horses, with indoor stabling and a grass paddock available - contact us for more details. There is ample parking for several cars and room for a horsebox if needed.

  • 3 bedrooms: 1 king-size, 1 double and 1 bunk room

This holiday home is in a beautiful location, tucked away in the North Yorkshire countryside equidistant from the gorgeous market towns of Malton and Pickering (both 5 miles). Set on the cusp of the North York Moors, there are lovely walks from the doorstep and stunning walking available within a short drive. Not forgetting, there are plenty of good cycle routes nearby too if you would prefer to explore on two wheels.

The very pretty village of Thornton-Le-Dale is within easy reach (4 miles drive) and an absolute must during your stay. This much-loved village looks like it's been lifted straight from a fairy tale, with its sweet little shops, meandering river and thatched cottages combining beautifully to create a country haven. Reward a wander around with a big slice of cake and cup of Yorkshire tea at one of the many cafes.

Just 5 miles away you'll find Pickering, a handsome North York Moors market town. Grand Georgian architecture stands alongside cosy traditional cottages to create a picture-postcard setting. There are several excellent restaurants, pubs and cafes in the town to discover and enjoy. The wonderful North York Moors Railway starts in Pickering, where you can catch a steam train to Whitby (24 miles) and back again through some of the most picturesque countryside in Yorkshire.

Beyond the town lies Dalby Forest (7 miles) and the amazing North York Moors, a landscape of gentle rolling hills of heather, ancient woodland and lazy rivers winding through lush green valleys. If you want to get away from it all, take a trip to the top of the high central moorlands - another great option if walking is your thing. For families, the lure of the local attractions may be difficult to resist with a theme park, high ropes centre and cycling trails within the local area.

In the opposite direction to Pickering, you'll find the equally good-looking market town of Malton, known as Yorkshire's foodie capital. This small town has a big reputation for food, markets and traditional old-fashioned charm. You can easily spend a whole morning wandering around the independent shops and artisan food producers in town.

In addition to Pickering and Malton, there are lots more well-heeled towns and villages dotted about the Moors, where honey-coloured sandstone buildings lend warm contrast to the deep purple and green of the surrounding hills. The beautiful market town of Helmsley is 18 miles and well-worth a visit with an ancient stone fortress, gardens and spa in town - perfect for a little me time indulgence.

You're also close to Castle Howard (12 miles), York (23 miles), Scarborough (18 miles) and the North Yorkshire coast with the RSPB nature reserve at Bempton (31 miles) for keen sea bird watchers. So, there are plenty of choices for delightful day trips.
