Boasting an enviable location in Filey, just minutes from the beach, this two-bedroom apartment is the perfect base for your seaside break.

Elegantly positioned close to the glorious golden sand and azure waters of Filey, this marvellous Edwardian townhouse apartment is the perfect setting for your seaside holiday. Embrace breezy beach-style living from the comfort of this ground-floor apartment that sleeps up to four guests, enjoying adventures galore along Yorkshire’s beautiful coastline. Whether you are treating your small family to a traditional seaside break with all the trimmings or are keen to celebrate a milestone birthday with that special someone, you’ll be in for an unforgettable stay.

Beneath the charming exterior is a shared entrance hall that leads to your humble abode, and you are guaranteed privacy from the moment you are tucked up inside. Kick off your sandy shoes and dust down your belongings, storing them in the hallway before venturing into the lounge in search of comfort. This room is tastefully styled with a large bay window at the forefront, filling the living space with natural light and benefits from a sea view. Sink into the sumptuously soft sofas and watch the candles flickering by the ornate fireplace whilst you sip a glass of ice-cold white wine, switching on the TV to catch your favourite shows. There are bookshelves dotted with some interesting books for you to peruse, but on sunny mornings the bistro-style table is a wonderful spot for sipping your morning coffee and watching the birds go about their business.

Your locally-sourced spoils can be transformed into delicious dishes in the kitchen, best enjoyed around the contemporary glass table with tall drinks. You’ll have everything you need at your fingertips to prepare a feast including an electric oven and hob, a fridge, a microwave and even a slimline dishwasher to take away the stress of cleaning the dishes afterwards. There’s also a washing machine for all your laundry needs too should you require it.

Gather your softest towels and toiletries from home and prepare yourself for a well-deserved pamper evening, descending the stairs to the lower level to reach the bathroom. If showers are more your cup of tea, then you will certainly appreciate the ground-floor wet room with its handy walk-in shower. Refreshed and invigorated, the bedrooms await for a restful night’s sleep. Choose from a fabulous room with a super-king-size zip-and-link that can be converted into a twin on request, or an attractive twin bedroom. Both feature crisp linen and a subtle underlying nautical theme.

The friendly owners really have thought of everything, and have included a generous welcome pack to kick start your stay. You’ll also find helpful items such as cricket bats and balls for a day on the beach, and you’ll have beach chairs and a picnic basket available to borrow. Your private enclosed garden is a sheer treat on sunny afternoons, inviting you to soak up the last of the rays after a long day on the beach. The rear courtyard is perfect for storing all your water sports equipment and bikes, and you’ll have allocated off-road parking for one car.

Filey is quietly brilliant and steeped in tradition with its quintessential resort vibe and a pleasing array of colourful beach chalets, food huts and picnic spots dotted along the promenade. Soak up the atmosphere and admire the spectacular sea views, or lace up your boots and join The Cleveland Way coastal trail from Filey Brigg (1.5 miles). The golden sands will appeal to any humble beach dweller, and numerous rock pools are teeming with marine life and the odd fossil for youngsters to investigate as well as family-friendly amusements set back from the beach.

Heading northwards along the coastline, you’ll discover Scarborough 8.5 miles away with its gorgeous beaches, cafes and restaurants. Make your way through the historic streets to explore Scarborough Castle or pop into St Mary's churchyard to visit Anne Bronte's grave. Enjoy a stroll around the South Cliff area, taking in the famous spa and Italian Gardens. Catch the cliff lift down to the beach and walk around to the peaceful North Bay, visit the renowned Sea Life Centre or explore the beautiful Peasholm Park with its boating lake, woodland walks and oriental influences. The old railway line which ran from Scarborough to Whitby is now a stunning cycling and walking route and is the perfect choice if you feel like a coastal walk taking in some spectacular scenery.

Bridlington (11 miles) boasts glorious sandy beaches, cheerful promenades and a pretty harbour populated by gently bobbing boats. Embrace a feeling of nostalgia and immerse yourself in traditional entertainment, thrilling the youngest members of your party with funfair rides, and trips to the arcades. Bridlington Old Town is awash with history, and eagle-eyed film enthusiasts may recognise the architecture from the 2016 Dad’s Army film. Timing your visit with the annual Dickensian Festival is a must for literature lovers – it is brilliant fun seeing all the stallholders and shopkeepers adorned in Victorian attire.

Flamborough Head (12.5 miles) will appeal to any nature enthusiast with its resident seals and dolphins, whilst the majestic chalk RSPB Bempton Cliffs are home to over 250,000 species of seabirds. The best way to see the local wildlife is to board a boat from Bridlington Harbour and marvel at the unrivalled views of the coastline on a sea safari, and a trip out on the Yorkshire Belle is fantastic for viewing the lighthouse at Flamborough Head.

Fantastic location. Comfortable beds and sofas. Great shower. It is an old house so it is cold even in the summer so take warm loungewear and slippers.

Cosy apartment in a great location. Great welcome pack and owner thought of everything to make it home from home. Turn left from the cottage and there is the sea. Great walk along the Brigg. Good to have parking just outside the apartment.
