Boasting a pretty garden and hot tub, this wonderful property provides the ideal base for family and friends to come together and explore the surrounding countryside.

Indulge, unwind and reflect from the vantage point of this superb farmhouse that’s nestled amongst the spectacular Yorkshire countryside, a location famed for its literacy connections to the legendary Bronte sisters. Brimming with lavish home comforts and special touches including a bubbling hot tub, a roaring wood burner and lots of outdoor dining options, your accommodation is perfectly suited to families and large groups of up to eight guests. Rediscover your love of the great outdoors by day, and by night you can unwind in style.

Beneath the stone exterior is a marvellous kitchen decked out with everything you need to relax over mouthwatering meals. Finished with heaps of personality and an edge of contemporary style, this room is the heart of the home with its large farmhouse-style table, feature beams and thoughtful accessories. There is an electric range-style oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer and a dishwasher offering plenty of space for cooking and an easy clean-up afterwards. All your laundry needs are also considered with the addition of a washing machine and a tumble dryer. For the ultimate caffeine treat, the Dolce Gusto coffee machine is a must for coffee enthusiasts.

Move through to the lounge and flop down onto the sofas for a well-earned snooze. The wood burner glows in the feature fireplace, casting a soothing ambience across the room as you watch the TV/DVD, read a book or crack open some board games. Your waggy-tailed family member hasn’t been forgotten either, there is a throne bed provided just for your pampered pooch. Once the little ones have retired for the night, uncork a bottle of wine and search for an exciting film on the SkyTV to entertain the grown-ups, or simply sit back and chat long into the evening. Completing the social areas of the property is an elegant sunroom for afternoon tea with a view.

Your sleeping arrangements are as flexible as you require to suit your party size and make-up, starting with a pretty twin room downstairs on the ground floor. The super-king-size bedroom boasts a wonderful en-suite shower room, and the two remaining bedrooms can access the marvellous family bathroom. This is the epitome of indulgence with its free-standing bath and separate shower. Completing the property is a ground-floor shower room.

The craggy tors and vast expanse of green fields in the distance provide a spellbinding backdrop for soaking in the hot tub, and when the stars come out to play you’ll adore slipping your shoulders under the bubbles as you lean back to count the constellations. Lured by your appetite, the BBQ is a tempting alternative to home cooking and you’ll be able to sizzle up a storm after raiding the nearby market towns and villages for delicious local produce. There’s also a fire pit for snuggling under blankets whilst you toast marshmallows, and lots of space to play and explore. The youngest guests will adore playing in the private field with your accompanying canine, but be sure to take care as there are steps throughout the garden as well as an unfenced pond. In terms of practicality, there is ample off-road parking and secure storage for bikes.

Those with a love of the outdoors will quickly fall for the Craven District and all its brilliance thanks to the glorious scenery, charming market towns and sleepy villages scattered throughout this captivating blend of outcrops, green hills and rugged moorland. It's a true walker's paradise here but if you're more of a roamer than a rambler, try a stroll around the grounds of nearby Bolton Abbey (14.5 miles). These gorgeous ruins provide the backdrop to a particularly beautiful part of the Dales and are well worth a visit.

The historic town of Skipton (8 miles) is also close by and offers a host of other attractions including its very own castle. There are lots of options to eat here as well as independent shops making it a great option for a full day out. Other nearby attractions include the Kilnsey Trout Farm and horse riding at Coniston, Malham.

Settle 23 miles away is a well-loved and bustling market town home to lots of lovely cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops. There's also a thriving market held in the town every Tuesday - the perfect place to pick up everything from flowers to dinner that night. If real ale is your thing, there are three fantastic real ale pubs set around the marketplace, so you can choose which one to try each evening!

Just outside of town, you can hop on the Settle to Carlisle railway, one of the most scenic routes in the UK which will take you over the well-known Ribblehead Viaduct. Beyond Settle, you have the exquisite delights of the Yorkshire Dales. And, as you would expect, the surrounding countryside here is magnificent, perfect if you want to strike out from the cottage in your walking boots or on your bicycle.

Keighley is a must for any railway enthusiast too - located just 8 miles away, it is the terminus of the Keighley and Worth Valley heritage steam railway. Running between the village itself to Oxenhope across the beautiful Worth Valley, the line is most famous for its pivotal role in the beloved 1970s classic The Railway Children and, more recently, Sherlock. The Timothy Taylor Brewery is also located nearby in Knowle Spring, 8 miles.

Owl cottage is a lovely place to stay. Clean, well-equipped, very comfortable (and great mattresses in bedrooms which tend to be too firm in previous holiday rentals we have stayed in). Great location too - walks on the doorstep and plenty of places to visit a short drive away. Loved the log fire and hot tub! Would highly recommend.
