Great property in a perfect location. Good sized bedroom with nice wet room showers. Dishwasher broke but was immediately fixed so thank you. Only gripes were: (1) on arrival crockery in the orangery room was dirty and (2) the property is advertised with seasoned Kiln Dried logs for the hot tub. As a tree surgeon they were not kiln dried as they haRead mored only just been cut so it was a nightmare trying to stoke up the small boiler for the hot tub. Hide

Stunning house, decorated to a very high standard and very well equipped. In particular the beds are extremely comfortable, bathrooms large and impressive and ample storage space. Had a great stay at willow cottage the house is absolutely beautiful, the only downfall was the hot tub, because of the cold weather the hot tub was frozen and no amount of heating the fire made any difference to it, which was disappointing.

Response from Gorgeous Cottages:

Hi Yvonne, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay at Willow House. The water is heated by a log burner and once hot should remain heated if the fire is kept going. The owner will take look into why the water wasn't as hot as previous usage. We do hope to welcome you back to Yorkshire very soon. Take Care, Marion

Lovely location. Owners very friendly and immediately responded to any questions/requests. Lovely decoration, bathrooms, showers etc all very good and working well. Had to clean the dishwater filters on arrival as dishes not cleaning. Hot tub did not get warm enough despite hours of hard labour! NoRead more speaker system/ sonos etc- didn't mind but had expected that and would have brought our own if we had known. Had expected a house of this calibre to have their own. One of the bedrooms very cold when rest of house very hot. Back dinning room really unusable in the winter without spending a long time heating it up. Otherwise we did have a lovely holiday and would go back if these small things were fixed.

Response from Gorgeous Cottages:

Hi Eileen,Thank you for taking the time to complete a review.I do agree the cottage is in a lovely location and Amanda the owner of Willow House is very friendly. I have now spoken to the owner regarding the points you have mentioned and she is very sorry that you had to clean the filters on arrival, the owner will be speaking with her cleaners to ensure this does not happen again. As the hot tub is a wood burning hot tub, this does take a little longer to warm up and I am sorry you had difficulty with this. There used to be a portable speaker at the house and it looks like unfortunately another guest may have accidentally taken this home with them and the owner will take a look at purchasing some more. Regarding the cold bedroom the owner can also presume that the previous guest had turned the radiator off. There is a radiator in the back dining room and also a blower heater which usually does keep this room warm. I am delighted that you had a lovely holiday and we would love to welcome you back to Yorkshire again very soon!Take careLouise Hide

Response from Gorgeous Cottages:

Hi Olwyn.Thank you for taking the time to complete a review.I have spoken to Mandy, the owner of Willow House, and she is so disappointed. Mandys regular housekeeper who would normally do the changeover and cleaning was unfortunately on holiday for your arrival date and a temporary cleaner was hired to clean the property. Mandy is very thankful for the feedback and sends her apologies. A full review will be conducted and she will speak to the housekeeper to ensure this doesnt happen again. It came as a shock to Gorgeous Cottages too as we havent had a complaint re cleanliness for any of Mandys properties. I believe my colleague has had email correspondence with you regarding this.I do hope we can book you into another Gorgeous Cottage sometime in the future.Take careLouise Hide
