Self-catering holiday accommodation in Aysgarth

Deep in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Aysgarth Falls is made up of three waterfalls, a popular visitor attraction for over 200 years. Situated at the edge of the pretty village of Aysgarth, the natural beauty of the waterfalls have several famous associations - the 19th century artist JMW Turner featured Aysgarth Falls in some of his sketches; it was visited by poet, William Wordsworth and his sister Dorothy; and it can be seen in the 1991 film Robin Hood – Prince of Thieves. There is a National Park Centre, café and car park. The waterfalls are a must-see after a spell of hard rain, so be sure to time your visit perfectly for excellent photo opportunities.

Aysgarth is a perfect base for a dog-friendly getaway and you'll find plenty of North Yorkshire cottages in and around this pretty village where you can rest weary paws and legs after days of exploring.

Also, close by you can enjoy walks in Freeholders’ Wood, a local nature reserve which is situated next to the falls with several level sealed paths winding across it. Visit during the spring to see the woods full of primroses and wood anemones. If you are very fortunate, you may catch sight of a roe deer. Dormice also live around the falls and the reserve, it’s unlikely you will see one as they stay very well hidden. Explore nearby towns such as Leyburn and Hawes from your North Yorkshire holiday home and spend time relaxing in the surrounding Yorkshire Dales countryside. Stay at one of our luxury Yorkshire cottages in Aysgarth on your next Yorkshire holiday.
