This gorgeous single-storey property in the tranquil village of Sinderby is ideal for friends/families who want to enjoy each other's company whilst exploring the delights of the Yorkshire countryside. Situated halfway between the North York Moors and Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which borders the Yorkshire Dales, guests will be spoilt for choice when it comes to getting out and discovering the area's variety of landscapes and natural beauty. Whether you're into walking, cycling, climbing or other outdoor pursuits, there is bound to be something to suit your interests in the surrounding area. Despite its relatively rural location, there is a pub within 1 mile of the property and a shop within 3 miles. The larger market town of Thirsk is also 7 miles away with its range of shops, eateries and other amenities. Packed with heritage, it was also once home to the famous vet, James Herriot; you can find out more about his life in the World of James Herriot Museum. After a busy day exploring, return home for a soak and a spot of stargazing from the comfort of your private hot tub.

One of four barn conversions on a working organic farm, this delightful home has been sympathetically renovated to a very high standard, with exposed beams adding character and a neutral palette accentuating the beauty of the natural materials used throughout. High vaulted ceilings add a sense of light and space, whilst contemporary fixtures and fittings create a luxurious, yet comfortable, home.

On the ground floor, there is an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The kitchen is well-equipped and has plenty of dining space for everyone. The comfortable lounge area has a wood burner as its focal point, creating a cosy space for snuggling down of an evening. From here, patio doors lead out to the courtyard.

There are three gorgeous bedrooms all decorated in calming neutral tones with a splash of colour. Once again, vaulted ceilings add to the feeling of space. There are two king-size rooms, which can be made up as twins on request, and both have good-sized, contemporary en-suite bathrooms. The third bedroom, a double, is equally as cosy as the others and has an en-suite shower room.

Outside, there is a private courtyard garden with a BBQ and furniture, so that during the summer months you can enjoy some al fresco dining. There is also a bistro set to the front of the property, which is a great place for a morning coffee whilst you plan your adventures. After dinner, sink into the hot tub with a glass or two of bubbly and relax. Beyond the property, you can enjoy the designated walking route around the owner's farm, where you can see the animals and may even get to collect fresh eggs from the hens.

  • 3 bedrooms: 2 king-size (can be made up as twin rooms on request) and 1 double
  • En-suite shower rooms with shower and WC to the double room, and 2 en-suite bathrooms with shower-over-bath and WC to the king-size rooms
  • TV/DVD, plus Smart TV in both of the king-size rooms
  • Wi-Fi included
  • Wood burner
  • Oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washer/dryer
  • Travel cot and highchair available
  • Bed linen, electric, and central heating included
  • Hot tub with robes
  • Pub 1 mile, shop 3 miles
  • Electric vehicle charging on site
  • Arrival: 15:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
  • 2 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £250 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £30. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

The attractive town of Bedale (8.5 miles) is a great place to have a coffee and then make your way around the town's antique shops and independent boutiques. Foodies will be delighted by the range of local produce, including beers and cheeses, on offer.

The vibrant cathedral city of Ripon (9 miles) boasts a Thursday market, numerous coffee shops, pubs, restaurants and a nice collection of independent shops to explore. The cathedral is smaller than its close neighbour, York Minster, but is still an awe-inspiring sight. In addition, every night for at least 450 years the Ripon Hornblower has sounded the curfew at 9pm from all four sides of the obelisk in the market place, come rain or shine, followed by a 15-minute history of the ceremony and the city – an experience not to be missed! If you are partial to a flutter, Ripon Race Ground has around 15 meets from April to early September. Known as 'Yorkshire's Garden Racecourse' it has a distinct atmosphere harking back to a bygone era – traditional tearooms and bandstands sit alongside the champagne bar.

This area of Yorkshire has enough historical sites to keep you busy for a week with Ripley Castle (16.5 miles), Newby Hall (12 miles) and Norton Conyers (5.5 miles). Visit lovely Fountains Abbey and the gorgeous Studley Royal Water Garden, 12.5 miles away – this World Heritage Site is deservedly one of the National Trust's most visited locations. As well as the spectacular ruins of a 12th-century Cistercian abbey, the grounds are home to an Elizabethan Mansion, a medieval deer park and some of the most romantic vistas in the country.

Harrogate (20 miles) is an absolute must-visit if you're staying here. Encircled by its famous Stray, or 200 acres, of horseshoe-shaped grassland, the Victorian spa town of Harrogate has a bright and breezy open-air feel and is characterised by its impressive floral displays. And as you would expect of such a bustling upbeat town, Harrogate boasts over 300 bars and restaurants together with all the shops, cinemas, parks and gardens you could ever wish for.

The vibrant little village of Osmotherley (18 miles) on the western side of the North York Moors is well-known as a starting point for walkers and cyclists. This gorgeous little place is real picture-postcard stuff. It also offers excellent facilities including a cafe, village stores and a fish and chip shop. If you're a bit of a foodie, this part of Yorkshire is packed with fantastic gastropubs, restaurants and delis.
