One of three gorgeous shepherds' huts in a complex set around a duck pond in stunning North Yorkshire. There are lovely walks from the doorstep and a pretty village within a 5-minutes' stroll. Sleeping up to three adults comfortably, they are the perfect rustic retreat for couples and young families alike. Handbuilt by the owner, this beautiful little shepherds' hut which comes equipped with everything you need for a cosy short break. Inside you'll find a small but perfectly proportioned open plan living space. It's a bijou space, and with its neutral wood panelling it feels surprisingly spacious. In addition to the electric radiators, a cute little wood burner sits at its heart keeping everything nice and toasty, whatever the time of year! And in the evenings, the mood lighting creates a very special atmosphere inside. If you're concerned about going too off-grid, don't be - the hut comes complete with a TV/DVD. There's a small kitchen which includes a hob, sink, fridge and plenty of crockery and glassware to use. A small dining area is set by the wood burner, the perfect spot to sit down for lunch and enjoy the antics of the ducks outside.

The bespoke beds are super-comfortable offering space for two below and one above. Kids, in particular, will adore their lofty sleeping quarters! At the opposite end of the hut you'll find a walk-in shower room and WC. Outside you'll find a picnic bench with uninterrupted views of the duck pond and surrounding countryside. A lovely spot for al fresco dining in the warmer months. And if you don't feel like cooking, we recommend the bridal path walk past the church to the pretty village nearby for lunch. The wider estate has a number of other attractions including various activities, plenty of spots to throw down a picnic blanket and a children's play area too.

There is a log burning hot tub, available for hire priced at £50 each day, arranged directly with the owner.

We was a party of 3 adults. We ended up sleeping on the bottom bed, the top bed is no way suitable for adults. Struggled to get on the bed and once on your face is too close to the roof no room for turning over. Overall we had a lovely stay. A very lovely location to spend a holiday and explore Yorkshire. Probably better suited to a shorter stay but longer holidays are fine if you are used to camping or sharing small spaces. The hut we stayed in was certainly functional but due a refit to obtain more than 3 stars.

The Shepherds hut is very quaint, clean & well equipped. It was a bit small for an older couple but we managed. We were really impressed with the beautiful walks & well kept grounds. The location is about right for all the best places in the area and we had a great holiday. When we had a minor fault to report it was dealt with quickly and by a veryRead more friendly member of staff. Hide
