Stepping Stones Barn is located in Stainforth in the shire of Ribblesdale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. We think it's one of the Dale's prettiest villages with its traditional stone cottages, narrow lanes and a cosy village pub dating back to the 19th Century. And of course as you would expect the surrounding countryside here is simply magnificent, perfect if you want to just strike out from the cottage in your walking boots or on your bicycle.
Just a few miles away you'll find the vibrant market town of Settle home to lots of lovely cafes, restaurants pubs and shops including the famous Ye Olde Naked Man Cafe in the square. There's also a thriving market held in the town every Tuesday, the perfect place to pick up everything from flowers to dinner that night. Just outside of town you can hop on the Settle to Carlisle railway, one of the most scenic routes in the UK which take you over the well-known Ribblehead viaduct.
Beyond Settle you have the exquisite delights of the Yorkshire Dales. It's a true walker's paradise here and you are very close to the famous Three Peaks here. If you're more of a roamer than a rambler try a stroll around the grounds of nearby Bolton Abbey. These gorgeous ruins provide the backdrop to a particularly beautiful part of the Dales and are well worth a visit. Top it off with dinner in the Michelin-starred Burlington restaurant found in the Devonshire Arms close to the Abbey.
