Problems from the start double booked, money was already taken out of the bank we had to rearrange holidays , essential items missing from the kitchen ie , sharp knives , tin opener, corkscrew. Also it stated that there was a sofa and a king size bed which there wasn't mattresses poor quality and thRead moree bed was 3/4 bed not king size. Location was nice and quiet until the fireworks were let of on two nights scaring the dog as no warning was given . Pity there wasn't a shop within walking distance to get essential items The two pubs in the village was very nice people made you feel welcome especially the angel.

Response from Gorgeous Cottages:

Hi Alan,Thank you for taking the time to send in a review. I do apologise for the initial mix up when you booked the cottage and the error on the availability. As soon as we noticed the error we notified you and I am pleased we managed to book you into alternative dates. I have spoken with the owner regarding the points you have raised and she is sorry that there were essential items missing. It seems like some guests may have taken them home accidentally. The owner Amanda is always available for her guests to call her at any point during their stay and if she was made aware that the items were missing, they could have been replaced for you. The housekeeping team will now go through all items to check everything is actually in the kitchen. Churra is a beautiful little Shepherd's Hut and there is no mention of a sofa or a king size bed on the cottage listing, I am sorry if you had thought you had seen this. I am delighted you liked the location of the cottage and we do apologise that you were not made aware of the fireworks.I do hope that we can book you into another Gorgeous Cottage sometime in the future that suits your requirements.Take careLouise Hide

Known as 'God's Own County', Yorkshire has nearly one-third of England's National Parkland, two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and three sections of coastline designated as Heritage Coast.

Offering infinite opportunities for lovers of the great outdoors, the wild expanse of the Yorkshire Dales National Park in North and West Yorkshire is a glorious mix of awe-inspiring scenery, imposing castles, characterful Dales' villages and drystone walls. While to the east, the North York Moors National Park offers atmospheric moorland, fragrant pine forests and charming towns tucked away within steep-sloped valleys. Extending all the way to the Yorkshire Coast, you can even experience a traditional day at the seaside at popular resorts including Whitby, Flamborough and Scarborough. It's a beautiful terrain to explore.

A visit to the historical city of York is a must. Renowned for its medieval architecture, the magnificent York Minster and a myriad of museums, independent shops and exceptional eateries, you will not be disappointed.
