Self-catering holiday accommodation in Gillamoor

Gillamoor is a tiny village at the edge of the North Yorks Moor National Park. Live in luxury at one of our holiday cottages in and around Gillamoor on your next break away to Yorkshire. There’s much to see and do because you have a good number of walking trails that originate close to the village, which is also well known for 'Surprise View'. At the eastern end, the main road bends to reveal a striking view over Farndale. One of the best beauty spots around in a land of many. The village church, St Aidan’s, was rebuilt single-handedly in 1802 by James Smith of Farndale.

Gillamoor is also 7 miles from the historic town of Helmsley, famous for its ruined castle, which was largely sacked in the English Civil War. Don’t forget to make a trip to Helmsley Walled Garden. This 250-year-old garden sits in the shadow of the castle and has five beautiful acres to explore. Helmsley is full to the brim with interesting shops and a great range of restaurants, pubs and cafes where you can try local delicacies sourced from Yorkshire farm produce.
